I'm thinking the easiest thing would be to change the Samurai skills to something else (half of them are redundant already).

So how do we change the EVTCHR.BIN file?  I have a custom Ramza sprite but I don't understand how to edit the exported BMPs.  All I want to do is replace the Ch4 Ramza with a new one.  If you are only recoloring sprites they end up fine.

Yo man, this is entirely incorrect.  Changing the values based on Razele's data results in Attack Power of Katana's being also being changed.  For instance when I changed the values to 00 the attack power on all Katanas became 00.  

So PickleBoy was right.  We'll need to change the Katana Draw Out formulas.  Anyone have any idea how to do this?

Damn, well I have no clue about how to use hex editors.  I've got SCUS_942.21 extracted with CD Mage and I have it opened in my hex editor.  Unfortunately I don't know how to navigate to those locations using "Hex Workshop" can anyone help me out?  I know I'm n00bing it the hell up here but this is way the hell different to what I normally mod (CPU games).

I have no idea what I'm doing with ASM hacking.  Is there a picture tutorial or something I can look for that will help me do this?  Its the only ASM hack I really need done (outside of the ones provided by Nate's ASM hack program).  This is the one last thing I need to do for class balance so if I could figure it out today that would be great.  I've got the Cheat Engine, Renegade 64, and a Hexeditor but have no idea what to do - the examples on viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1582&start=20 I don't really understand.

If you can extract ISO/IMG from eboots then they probably are the same because you can put all the PSX games on your PSP.  The thing is can you repackage them as eboots also?  Because that means you could play mods without custom firmware which would be the shit.

Yo man, you need to go the "Actions" tab in FFT Patcher and change "Math Skill" from Arithmetiks to Default.  That should allow you to use normal skills instead of math skills.

So when I do the Layer Style settings it seems to apply the effect to the entire layer rather than just the text.  Therefore when I create text its display changes as I move the text around on the layer.

I doubt it, but I'm not an expert on the PSX games in the PS3 store.  I was saying that if you couldn't get it to transfer I can get you an ISO of the original game.  However this forum does not allow links to ISO files - so if you want you will have to email me.  

I believe the format used by the PS3 is different than the standard CD ISO or IMG formats.  And thus does not work on a normal emulator.

You can find an IMG of the original PSX version many places online.  In general it is taboo to place such links on these forums; but if you have a PS3 copy of the game I'd have no qualms about helping you get a copy to run on emulator.

If you are unable to find a copy or anyone else here can't help you transfer from ps3 to pc, I'll hook you up, just shoot me an e-mail:
