Sup, I'm back to do some modding of WotL since slowdown has been fixed and emulation is also possible.
I was wondering if someone had already recolored generics to have each sprite palette match a specific color scheme even more closely than the main game.
IE currently Squires are colored as such: #1 - Brown #2 - Blue #3 - Red #4 - Green #5 - Pink
Black Mages are colored as such: #1 - Blue #2 - Teal #3 - Black #4 - Green #5 - Red
As you can see there are a couple of differences here which I would like to make similar across all generic classes. IE I want all #1, party members to be RED, all #2 palettes should be BLUE, all #3 palettes should be BLACK, etc.
I seem to remember someone was redoing the sprites for an AI season in the past but wanted to check before I go through the somwhat painful task of re palettizing all the generics to fit a uniform theme that was different than the main game.

I know a while back there was a large discussion on Speed Growth and ways to alter or solve issues associated with it (particularly late-game balance, de-leveling, and the like). A while back I made a Powerpoint on it for my own mod - in order to tell users unfamiliar to the Battle Mechanics Guide, or Tactics modding in general, what was Speed Growth, how we dealt with it, and how others were dealing with it. Well today I finally got around to adding audio and uploading it as a video. I've been trying to tie up all the lose ends and get my mod out on December 19th, 2010. Anyway, I thought you guys might like to see and/or discuss these videos; considering these are the esoteric things that such communities love.
So I'm taking a class at a community college as I wait to go Army Chemical School next year. And lo and behold President Obama rolls in. Crazy that I meet him at a community college rather than the four year university I went through or through a military event.
Is there anyway to stop Katanas from breaking with the Samurai Skill Set? I tried changing the calculation away from "XXX//May display broken" but all that does it make the skill work similar to an item (in which the katana is auto-consumed) which is the exact opposite of what I am trying to do. I figured this has probably been done before but I could not find a thread about it.
Goal: Add an innate Support Skill (Defense UP) and Movement Skill (Move-HP Up) to your friend and mine - Boco.
Problem: After joining my party these two skills are not in effect for Boco.
Method Used: I edited Event "194 - Araguay Woods" to add "Defense UP" and "Move-HP Up" to Boco under the skills section in his details window. It seems that in the initial battle (before he is joined to the party) both these abilities work fine. Unfortunately when added to the party he no longer has these skills.
Question: Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? Does he need another Primary set rather than "FF Job's"? Or am I missing something very simple. Changes I made to Rad, Alicia, and Lavian seem to have worked fine, but Boco is not working correctly. Thanks in advance.
Does anyone have any suggestions about changing Rafa and Malak's sprites? I mean you know its fortunate that their family got killed by a fire; just to spare their mother from looking at that fugly pair.
I was thinking of a recolor but that might not be enough . . .
What do you guys think about this sprite for Reis? I always thought Reis's human sprite was way to tame for an awesome half-dragon with retarded good stat growth. The sprite is a recolor utilizing Zozma's Lust sprite.
When patching or hacking an ISO does the order in which I patch things matter? Should I use the common ASM hacks last or first (the ones from FFTorgASM)? Does that matter? Do I place sprites in first and then do everything else?
I am under the impression that you would do FFTPatcher, ASM, then Sprites. Is this correct?
Goal: I'm trying to get Vanya's Defender Sprite (Ch2/3 Ramza) into FFT but I don't want the base purple sprite - I want the his red version.
Attempted: So far I've attempted importing the SPR into FFT an switching the drop down box for palette to "Sprite #2" this seems to have no effect when you exit though. I've also tried exporting the BMP when I had palette "Sprite #2" selected (so the GUI showed me a red defender) but it exported the same palette.
So I've Downloaded FFTorgASM and I noticed it has a hack called "Defend Reduce Physical Damage by 25%" which is pretty cool. But I think that it should reduce damage by 50% (or maybe 33%) considering it not only takes you an action but also takes a slot.
I figure this should be a simple fix, but I have no clue about how to do that. Is there a guide or thread about this? A search turned up some ASM request threads but they all seem to just be people requesting things that one person puts into the FFTorgASM program.
I'm recoloring Ramza for a small modification I am working on and was wondering what most of you vet guys around here think looks best.
I was planning on changing every Ramza (Ch1, Ch2, Ch4) but I'm not sure what I could do with the original one besides a color swap. I figure the Ch2 one could have armor while the Ch4 one would have armor and a cape. Any feedback is appreciated.
