The colors here are weird, and the sprite itself looks wonky and squished. I can see what you're trying to go for here, but my advice would be just to start fresh.

We don't mean anything by it, it's just a little comical because the bmp that you posted is very much unusable. It's only about half the sheet, it's been squished vertically a little bit and the only edit you made was a bit to the whites. I mean, you have to start somewhere, but why did you cut the sheet in half and squish it like that?

Not quite sure what you mean about doing the "funky chicken" but it sounds like 1 of 2 issues:

1.  You have hit the sprite limit glitch.  The game could only load 9 sprite sheets (5 of which have to be assumed to be the player unless you changed this).  Which means you can't have more than 4 unique sprite sheets in your enemy formation.

2.  Altima's sprite looks kinda funny if you don't give her float and teleport, and she moves with any other ability.  Fly without teleport, or attempting to walk across the ground looks silly.  Just give her float and teleport innately if this bothers you.

slight modifcations needed for first half still need to do the attacks.   its more less suposed to be a smaller version replica of alitma not nessisarly an edit also as a ruka not an abrute

Ultra, it's obvious that he's not done, the portrait is pre-existing and an attempt at fixing it has not been made yet since he's clearly working on the sprite first.

most of my templates came from Seushiro that cape 1 i dont even know lol ill look it up tho thanks guys. and seushiro makes some bad ass sprites just saying. like his work allot.0

Right and you need to credit the sprite you got from Jot5, not to the game, but to the person who made the sprite :P

If you don't have the time to find out who it was and give proper credit (by looking in the Jot5 sprite thread in this section) then you don't have permission to use the sprite.

fiinal version let me know iif u see anything that needs to be fixed, will fix portrait i know its fuky but meh geting to it was a pain to edit the kilt to make it look good, minor detials going to ajust but looks not to bad i think.

got the head n shoulders from Seushiro. body nothing is left of ogirnal but feet only and they are soon to be removed or moidified drasticaly but the body came from Metal   hulk 
most of the original is gone but thanks for the base dudes and as always thanks Seushiro for A the idea and B the starting blocks to make it possible. had to make the chest plate and sash thingy working on new arms and feet coming together nicely. thanks for hulk  Metal as well i know i replaceing all the peices now but it helps to have a base to go off before i start replacing shit.    but the overall concept came from Seushiro. here is one of the test gloves not proper colors yet just looking at diffrent choices comparing but like this 1

geting close to done the non cloaked version. still workiinig on attacks. and decideing what i want to use for crit / dead. have cloaked versions already for crit / dead but doesnt mesh with non cloaked heh.

I've been wanting to comment in this thread for a while.  First off- Good work!  I've wanted to use the Titan and a couple of other large sprites together to make something BIG and unique.  It looks like you did a good job getting the shoulders and arms onto this body.

The Titan skirt thing is sort of derpy looking (that's simply how it is on the original).  I wanted to say it looks like it doesn't blend particularly well.  Also, kind of a major issue, I removed the port on you test9 to look at it in graphics gale- and it has 18 colors.  That won't properly import into the game.  I suggest that the energy blast you are using be recolored to match the yellow/gold so you can knock it back down to 16 or less.  A few of the sprite colors are being pulled right off of the portrait palette.

awsome thanks for the detailed info i aperciate it when i was editing i messed up the pallets i have that issue fixed thanks allot for helping out hard to go off my own thought nice to get some feedback. allot of fine tuneing left to go but its getting there. and i still cannot spell i dont want to count the errors lol.

also the end game of this is the cloaked version so if the back looks terrible i will fix it but not going to worry to much about it. and the cloaked version will have diffrent attack i just made that force ball thiinigy as a filler needed the none cloaked version as a template for the cloaked version hahah would be rather amuzing if i dont like how it goes together lols should be good tho hopefuly. also thinking the finial non cloaked version im going to use diffrent legs but at least i got a decent top i can use already have legs in minid probly velius or somthing similar.

Been meaning to comment on this but guess I forgot. I feel stupid posting on sprites sometime cuz I have no real feedback I can give besides "cool looks good" lol. But the latest version is absolutely beautiful work! By far my favorite version ( others were just as good but I'm loving the colors on this one )

I wasn't a fan of the original caped one, but something about the spawn cape, looking good! Not that there was anything wrong with the other caped one. maybe it's just the colors I didn't like? idk (ik super helpful lol)

Would you mind If I use a couple of your sprites some day? I don't plan on doing a mod anytime soon, I'm still just learning eventing and hex but when I do there is a couple sprites of yours I would like to use and I'm sure there will be more of yours I like. I'd of course give you the credit you deserve  ;)

Hey DarkMaeko.

I'm going to have a differing opinion of a lot of people here, but I don't think the Golbez sprite looks great. There are a couple of problems with it that I'd like to point out.

- The old Blue and Gold palette looked better than the current Black and Red, but they both aren't good, and are hiding flaws in your shading. The black colours in particular are making it look really flat. Two of your red colours are at 100% saturation, that is a big no no! Grab colours from existing FFT sprites and you will be able to see the issues I will be mentioning. Just remember, that when you are trying to make a sprite fit into a game, making the palette similar can go a long way in achieving that.

- The chest and back are really flat. The back in particular. You'd be better off adding a cape to hide the whole back frames like Golbez normally has.

- The darkest black colour you are using/shadows around the chest and arms makes it look like he bigger than intended or look like he has a small cape sometimes.

- The front and back view legs are probably the worst part to be honest. The yellow/red cloth in the middle has weird shading and the current colours you are using don't help with the look of that. But the dots on the legs are basically indecipherable. It's just a continuous pattern of a bright yellow and slightly darker yellow, it's extremely jarring.

Harsh critiques maybe, but getting critiques like this will help you identify areas you need to improve on and will help you in the long run. I would recommend sticking with smaller sprites until you get used to the shading style. Also getting accustomed to the colour palettes used in FFT will help greatly. You used FFT colours in the Artorias sprite which was great and it turned out okay.

Anyway, that's all for today. Keep improving, stick with smaller sprites for now and come back to Golbez at a later time. :)

I have to say that Critiques, helped me gain a ground on what it took to create a sprite worthy of FFT. Look at my first two pages for Terra. It was riddled with critique but we all worked on her, is how I see it. This aspect I loved of the community, Terra didnt belong to me or to any of us, but we made something of her. You have some GREAT IDEAS and have the skill to implement them and dedication beyond most. Keep doing this please and learn from all of the critque.

yay most of the issues i know about just a matter of first off finding what pallets work together etc and balancing them. or some of the issues i didnt fix because theres going to be some kind of replacement just havent finished the template to transfer etc. but it deffintly helps allot to hear thoughts so i know what has to be changed etc most of the things mentioned in the works but brought up allot of good points thanks so much.

the black one needs to be re colored but good starter point for what im going for it goes fucky when you enter the shade lols. but workiing on hands a bit and trying for some better legs. not worried about pallet realated details entell i get the base im going for.

Hiya,

Have a quick request about your Artorias sprite - is it possible to make a female version? Perhaps like Ciaran?

Every time I see an awesome human spritesheet that is for only one gender I cry a little since they could all be used as potential new Jobs if there's a M and F pair.
