There is one translation error, the title of my topic, that I strongly feel ought be left alone. It was updated in the PSP version of Tactics, and was, in my opinion, less powerful than "Don't open that". I realize it sounds silly. That's because it IS silly. But I just can't help it. I think that the original engrish was much more entertaining.
Much like how Garland will knock you all down.
There are quite a few fans of the original translation for some reason. I personally can't get over how much of the story I missed because of all the mistakes. But where did you get that dark knight sprite? I haven't been able to find anything from Lion Wars.
it was revealed to be a mistranslation.
it was supposed to be don't listen to that.
the japanese character for "open" and "listen" are almost the same and with the psx low resolution text the translator mixed them
Oh I know it is. But that doesn't change me feelings for it as a line. I thought it was quirky. But I will admit, that's the only one, and it's more a fact of personal attachment. A friend of mine, one that is no longer with us, used to joke about that line any time someone would pose a moral question, down to "Should I buy a soda, or keep my money till lunch?"
As for the Dark Knight, go the The Spriters Resource. I don't have a URL, but I google it and always forget to save it. Expansive FFT sprite listing.
I can't believe I couldn't find those sprites before. Thanks Griff, you just made my day.
Nah, man, it's cool. I'm a geek. I used to have a sprite comic an age back, and now I just toy with sprites some.
"Don't open that" isn't totally wrong, considering he releases a Zodiac beast from it. Therefore, I could see it staying.
