I change up the colors on female quite a bit, I also removed a lot of what I feel was too saturated and rich.

Well, lijj's version has some orange red parts in it as well that makes a huge difference

Ok here is the final one I've put together. Essentially I've merged some of mine and lijj's together. So that most of the colored chocobos would appear in one sheet. People can change the order themselves.

Well, I'm by no means following "traditional colors" because to be quite honest I could care less about that. I do not think some colors will translate well period in terms of eye appeal.

Here is my version of the chocobo sprite recolored, started with blue. The colors are Blue, Green, White, Yellow, Black, and Red. The red portrait came out the worst, red is very hard to get correct and looking good... when it is the ONLY color.

The black one isn't too bad but the white one appears to be a bad blue of sorts. Why not try using the dragon colors I have on my sprite page? I'm at work so I cannot do it right n but you maybe able to beat m to the punch.

Nice! I already like the small change to the hair.

I think on the legs it is a bit off. the armor extends too far out so it makes it seem like part of her thigh is missing.

I personally hope you posted this with the intention of working on it to improve it now that you pieced the 2 parts of the Japanese sprite together. Otherwise I suggest you say that it is from the japanese people and let the topic die because I highly doubt someone is suddenly going to take up working on the sprite.

Aside from this, if you want to improve it do these things.
1. Start by browning/graying down some of the colors they are too bright (saturated) aka they 'glow' too much
2. Improve shading details on the pants/back/hair
3. Reshape some of the face, it looks too odd for a FFT character.
4. Rework the shoulders, he is way too muscular.

This is what happens when you don't do the fusion dance correctly!!!! :D

On a serious note, I believe this issue is because Kokojo padded his iso with 0s to extend the length prior to opening it with shishi. So you need to not expand with shishi or your sprites will be messed up. I mean I got this game to work on the psp for most parts.

In other words... just apply the ppf to a clean (not expanded iso) of FFT. If that causes the same issue then simply restructure with shishi prior to applying the .ppf to the iso. Let people know which worked that way they know for reference purposes :)

Does not work that way unfortunately. I know what you are thinking and wanting. You have to recreate the song using the instruments allowed within FFT. So no you can never use FF7 music even if it was .SMD because it does not call for the same instruments. Think of it like Mario Paint music. You pretty much have to do that to a song to get it to work in this game :|

We have many people hear including myself and FDC that work with music IRL and I think FDC is the only one who has bothered trying to create a song from scratch.
