Title: .img vs .bin
Post by: k3yblad3 on March 16, 2009, 05:41:25 pm
First of all, sorry for asking for so much help but I seem to run into roadblocks every five seconds :(

Anyways, I have a .bin file for my fft. However, as soon as I start trying to hack I run into a problem. It seems as though I need a .img file for CDmage to work. So, next thought popped into my head: why not try my CD of the game. So I try that, but when I put it in, nothing shows up for my D drive. When I look in it, there's nothing there. No folders, nothing. However, it runs fine on ePSXe so I know there is definitely something in there. My .bin file also runs fine on ePSXe.

So it appears as though I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place and I really don't want to spend an eternity looking for a .img file for fft. I'd be very appreciative if someone could link me to a download for it. Also, I'd prefer if it wasn't in the form of a torrent, as I'm not too partial to torrents, but if that's all you've got, I suppose I could use it.

Just rip your CD to your PC.
Using http://www.pspmod.com/forums/sony-psp-h ... noobs.html (http://www.pspmod.com/forums/sony-psp-homebrew/17772-guide-using-autopopstation4-noobs.html)

Just stop after you rip your PS1 game.

Thanks for the try dude, but no go. I get caught up on the first couple steps and it just keeps saying please insert CD. I know it's not a problem with my CD drives as other games have info in the folder, but my fft folder is completely empty. I'll show you:

if you have PowerISO you can make an img of the cd regardless of what it shows, but then youd need that program. It's prolly faster to get a torrent :>

First of all, what files do you have in your fft?
.bin file, obviously. Any other files you have?

Well, if you have .bin file, then you should have .cue file in your fft.
So, just open .cue file with CDmage and your problem is solve. ^^

This link will explain all. Links to programs and a step by step guide.

This is the method I use, so I know it works as well.
