Post by: Vanya on September 13, 2008, 07:36:41 pm
Do we have a way to change what graphic a weapon uses in-battle?

I thought that was something everyone has been having trouble with?

And Hi, Vanya. Did I miss anything while I was gone?

A lot. Let's see.
Zodiac found the address for the user skill animations and I've researching them.
Also, he found the address for the permanent brave/faith modifiers. So now we can disable that pain in the ass feature or even edit it.
Tons of sprites.
I figured out how to remove and even edit images in effect files.
I think that's about it.

Of course WEP.SPR, unfortunately I don't think we can see the whole thing, but it should work regardless.

WEP.SPR is fully viewable. Editing it is easy, the problem is that I want to change certain items into different types, LD. Like changing the harps into extra cloths and bags. They always end up with glitched gfx.

Hmm, can you show me a few of your tests?

I haven't really even tried doing anything with it yet.
I thought at first that the palette and gfx digits in the patcher were for in battle, but I tried and it did nothing. That's how I know those bytes are for the menu.

I have no idea where the values for the in battle graphics might be. I guess that's why we haven't been ale to do anything with the FFFF effects either.
