There should be a free program that allows you to transfer to and from, too.

Koizumi used it when we converted Korso's psp for CFW usage.

Eh? Not sure what you mean by that... what should I be searching for?

There should be a program somewhere on the internet that allows you to change a batterry to a panbatt and back though if you find it I recommend you thoroughly read the READ ME as a mistake will leave you with a perma panbatt.

The device will cost you, but it is a 100% sure to work thing. All it takes is a botton press to convert to panbattt, then another press to go back. No risk involved. If you have the wrong kind of battery it simply won't work.

Money, heh... without a job I'm not really apt to spend a penny more. Any other alternatives?

Well, in case you happen upon an extra 20$ plus shipping check here: http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP-Battery-Service-Tool__EF000530.aspx

The cheap alternative is find the nearest GameStop and ask one of the guys that works there to lend you his pandora battery.

At www.psppandora.net I got one for 5$, came in a month, the memory cards are fake though. Another advantage to CFW is you can play  the PSX version on the PSP, and use all sorts of useful hacks from psphacks.com.

Now, now guys, before we go around filling LD with hopes, we need some info.

As of now, what psp do you have? is it new? VERY thin and shiny? do you know if it was a psp 3000?

3000 have a new motherboard in them that disallows for Pandora Batteries.

If you have a psp 3000, the only way to mod it is to be below firmware version 5.01, and buy the game Grip Shift off of ebay.

If your psp is completly new, your only chance is grip shift. use a stack crash in the game to get cfw(basically use an exploit ot allow its instilation). If its a PSP Phat, or an original Slim(smaller than phat, larget than 3000, but metallic silver), then a pandora battery will most likely work. Though there is always a chance that a psp phat/slim got shipped with a test motherboard that is used in the 3000 now.

PSP 3000 is just a new, thiner, brighter, lighter version of PSP Slim. PSP Slim doesnt have a model number. PSP Phat is known as psp 2000, officially.

what happened to 1000 i dont know; it could be just cause the psp was released shortly after 2000?

He said the serial number is 1001. It's a Phat. There should be no worries about being able to get custom firmware.

Also, you're a bit off with the serial numbers:
PSP Phat: PSP-100X
PSP Slim: PSP-200X
Newest PSPs: PSP-300X

I say you go with the easy mehtod and see if any of your local game stores employees have a panbatt. All the gamestop employees in my area at least have one and most cary it on them for an occasion such as yours.

You would need to remember to bring a magic memory card with you wouldn't you?

Basically you need to put certain files on a memory stick in order for the pandora to do it's thing.

Google this: TOTALNewbieasyInstallerPandorasmenu.rar

If you can't find it let me know and I'll e-mail it to you.
I'd post it, but its 135 MB.

I have a very simple program on my computer that gives you the files you need, makes you memory stick into magic memory stick, and turns battery into a pandora battery. Its called Pandora's GUI. Like I said it is VVERRYYY simple.

I made a pandora battery (and back to normal) with the normal battery, a screwdriver, magnifying glass, knife, lead pencil and ducktape, but suit yourself to pay a few bucks for it. I just dont know if the fat pandora battery is the same as a slim.

I dont think you need to do that to a Phat Battery. I think all you need is the file "Pandora Battery Maker" on ur psp and A Magic Memory Stick.

Nope. The Phat Battery also needs to be mod'ed; either via hardware or firmware.

Rains MMS maker is what I'd recommend. You might to want to do some research on CFW and read a little about it if/before you decide to go through with it.
