Yes, it's still very much active. They're just on a six year hiatus.

Help! / Re: Mods on iphone version

Also, Xifanie and I use 8-year-old laptops that are more than enough for PlayStation. Depending on what you have, ePSXe might be too demanding, and PCSX-R not much better, but pSX 1.13 can run on some very feeble hardware. My toaster can probably run it.

As someone who purchased a $15 personal pizza from an airport, I can confirm. You're held hostage there, and the prices are set accordingly. Even janky little airports conduct highway robbery with food and drinks.

@Elric: I think I can cut the square block to round shape to fit the hole.
You could, at best, nick a little bit of one corner off before you've exhausted the tools' effectiveness.

O is confirm and X is cancel on the PSX too... is there any version that it's not?
US/Euro version of WotL.*

* Kind of a misnomer, because PSP games don't care about the region of the game you're playing in, but what region your PSP is set to. An American PSP will play Japanese WotL with X = confirm, for example.

Late to reply, but remember that on console, original Gameshark has a 15 line limit per code. PCSX-R has a line limit per game. Then there's pSX, with no official support. Why not make this site inaccessible to anyone not using Windows 3.1 and Netscape Navigator while we're at it?

1. Those are in the event data, which is not handled by Tactext.

2. This?

If you're messing with text, I strongly advise against using WotL as a base, as Tactext is far and away the most volatile tool for WotL users. Things will go wrong, you will lose data, and your sanity will slip away.

Oh, I hated XIII-2. I only managed to sit through it with Xifanie playing it for me. That made me change my opinion from, "hated it" to, "makes about as much sense as X-2 did, yeah." XIII, I just had Stockholm syndrome. I didn't want it, I wasn't going to buy it, but I was given it as a gift, so I was determined to get some fun out of it no matter how frustrated I got. I bought it two more times as a result. I'm not very smart.

While we're here, since I haven't done any ruined moments...
Final Fantasy XIII-2
We've gotten to the ending, as happy as anyone can expect... And Serah drops dead out of nowhere because plot device and the end of the world begins. K. I'm not even sure 'anticlimactic' fits, the way they wrote that out.

Final Fantasy XIII
Some of the Eidolon awakenings, but especially Fang's. Sazh's was good, Lightning's fit at the time, Snow was Snow, Hope was Hope, Vanille's would have been good if they hadn't squandered the backstory's telling, and Fang... just holds the idiot ball. It's like the developers realized she still needed to get Bahamut, but Fang is too aloof and sarcastic badass to really pluck away at insecurities, so let's just have her go full retard for a minute so she can have an Eidolon like everyone else. Absolutely ruined scene. She should have just joined with Bahamut already available - it would have made a lot more sense that way, considering she already became Ragnarok.

Lightning Returns was my favorite in the trilogy. :I
Sadly nothing really emotional about it, and the events were really simple (which didn't help with emotion getting across), but some of the side stories were nice, the main story was cool, and the game itself fun to play. You can actually drive monsters to extinction and no longer get random battles! FUCKAWESOME.

Help! / Re: Can't Open ISO in Shishi Sprite Editor

Using WotL is asking for trouble.

Are you using the most recent version of Shishi?

Persona 4
Nanako in the hospital, and all of Heaven.

Lost Odyssey
Too many of the dreams to list, but especially the girl at the inn who requests stories. Seriously the best writing ever put into a game.

Disgaea
Blue and Yellow are killed. :(

Okay, honest answer: event before the final battle, and the not-quite-best ending with all the blood and Laharl never learning about Flonne's reincarnation. There's never been another game to make me laugh so hard and still get so heavy.

Help! / Re: Well the android version crashes a lot
June 15, 2016, 07:35:17 pm
The Android version is a worse, buggier port of the iOS version, which is a worse, buggier port of the PSP version, which is a poorly-handled modified emulation port of the Japanese PSX version.

PPSSPP works well, though I have no idea if your phone is fast enough for it (I have a Nexus 6, and even that doesn't guarantee me full speed on some games), though if it isn't, you can emulate the PSX version on Android ePSXe (which is definitely faster), but I doubt FFT Complete will run on it correctly.

Help! / Re: memory card/ saving issue
June 12, 2016, 09:30:04 pm
Also, if you're getting the same memory card screen issue in PCSX-R, that should only happen when you're using Gameshark codes that interfere with the checksum routine. This one is widely known. And nothing in the current version of Jot5 Chapter 1 should trigger that behavior on PCSX-R or otherwise.

Help! / Re: How to get started?
June 08, 2016, 07:35:23 pm
PSP WotL can still have custom sprites, with the caveat that the new sheet be the same size as the old sheet. Edit: I think I may have confused you with my last post - the UMD (physical copy) version of PSP WotL is the one with patching support, while the PSN (download-only) version has no such support regardless of platform.

Android and iOS have no patching support whatsoever right now, so no custom sprites.

PSX can have custom whatever-you-like.

Help! / Re: How to get started?
June 08, 2016, 07:25:37 pm
None of the patching tools will work with the PSN version for either PSP or Vita, so that is a lot of functionality lost. No custom sprites, no custom jobs or skill sets, no custom battles or formations, etc. Sadly, not even Lion Editor will work on Vita due to the lack of injection method for forcing no-encrypt on save data. Unfortunately, Vita is the one version of FFT/WotL that cannot be modified in any way with our present tools and knowledge.

Android and iOS at least have save editor support, so you can, say, add Olan to your party and have him dual-wield knight swords.

PSP WotL has both save state and game patching support, but very very very little in the way of ASM. Which is to say, very nearly none at all.

PSX FFT, the sky is the limit. Well okay, you're limited by file sizes and VRAM, but some of the greatest artistic pieces in the world came about under greater restrictions. If it's at all possible for you to do so, we recommend sticking to the original game for any and all modding purposes.

Edit: sniped by less than two minutes. *shakes fist*

It can't be done. Lion Editor is a PC application. You require a computer.

Disgaea series, item world. The maps themselves are many and varied, but with many randomized factors (some maps can't be beaten in Disgaea 1 unless you have a Scout) that take the gameplay limitations into effect. Disgaea is fairly simple, battle-wise, with its most technical component being throwing (and in later games, totem attacks). Disgaea has a plethora of ideas for a minimalist SRPG that shines like diamond. Until you get into the transmogrification (I can't remember what it's called in-game), Disgaea's battle system is -very- simple, but also addictive.
