I think one of the problems with this is the line thickness. Especially around the hair. They're a bit too chunky.

Yeah. The hair is horrible. I just can't make it look natural, like all the other existing portraits. Either too odd or too funny, like the previous one where Asmo mentioned "it looks like he is standing under a wind tunnel"
Haha.

QuoteYeah. I think the left side of the hat need some dark shadings right?
Right at the middle where there's a little fold on the hat.

No, it's the opposite, imo.
Make less dark shades for the left *side, add more to the right side. Then see what happens.

Unfortunately, no. I think the progress stopped at walking animation.

Sorry, Mike. Didn't notice this post until now.

Yeah, with the hat all you need to do is spread out the shading a little more evenly and then adjust the palette so it blends more. Right now there's too much of the light color and then it suddenly becomes dark. Make it more gradual and you'll be fine. The hair doesn't actually look bad, in my opinion, it just doesn't look perfect yet. Take into consideration that there are a few "unnatural" looking portraits that made it into FFT--with heads at strange angles and hair doing all kinds of wacky things.

Yeah. The shadings are....Uhhhh....=.=
Anyway, I'll take a look again with reference from the existing portraits, try to make it look more natural.

But Llednar's sprite isn't with me. I mean, I'm not sure the latest of it but the last stop was in walking animation, I think.

But I think i can submit because if I didn't remember wrongly, I have the sheet for walking animation. However, any changes after that, is not with me because I helped ehrgeiz20 in walking and I post the sheet to him and after that, did he make any changes or not, I'm not sure.

Alright, its been quite long since my last update on Llednar's portrait and I've been scratching my hair off to make it look right but this is the best I can do. My opinion, I think only hat looks better. I fixed a bit its front hair, colar, and shoulder. The back hair, I don't know exactly how to crack it.

Right now the gray space between the flowing hair makes it look very awkward. His hair doesn't need to flow at all, really, so let it drop behind his head and that'll be taken care of. One of your major problems is the fact that the shading on the shirt and hat goes from dark to light too quickly: use more of the darkest shade and make the middle shade more intermediary and it may balance out.

Ah, shouldn't try to flow the hair too hard, eh? ^^
Alright. Thanks mav. As for the shirt and hat, meaning use more darkest shade and middle shade to cover up those light areas?

Right--use the dark red shade more (right now it acts as a small barrier between the middle shade and the black edges) and then spread out the middle shade a bit more. Consider where the light his hitting him, and then place the shades accordingly. It's tough, but not impossible.

Meh, giving this particular portrait anything but a smile will make him look way too serious. I say keep it...
