Title: How do I apply patches made on FFTPatcher-v0.148[1]
Post by: akwikone on August 26, 2008, 01:14:02 pm
I have ppf-o-matic3 and I've used it to apply FFT v1.3, and it worked fine but I can't use it on the patch I made because it is not a ppf file, so how do I either A)apply said patch to an ISO, or B)convert said patch to a ppf file

your help is greatly appriciated, also sorry if I put this in the wrong place

Open up FFTPatcher, open your patch, at he top where it says PSX or PSP, click which one you are patching and select Patch ISO.

I would also suggest getting a newer version of the patcher. It's up to v0.271.

it says

 could not find patch locations
ensure that the file is an ISO image if you are patching war of the lions, ensure that you have selected SCUS_942.21 if you are using final fantasy tactics

please note that I am using the psx verson and psx ISO

EDIT: just that Vanya posted while I was posting, will try the newer version

it was working, but when I was copying my unaltered ISO to patch it to my cat jumped on the key board and ended up deliting my unaltered ISO so I'll have to download a new one and to do that I'll have to wait till 1 morning, thanks to hughs net fair access policy

Also here's a nugget of advice, keep a original copy of the ISO, so if your cat deleted it again, you'll have the backup. If you are patching the PSP version, you need to right click on the iso, properties and untick the read-only box. For the PSX, you need to download the CD-Tool from this site.

I have a new ISO, and I've made a copy, but now this message comes up
when I try to pacth the ISO

so now what?

Dooode! Basic Computer usage. If you right-click on a file on your computer and you click the check box that says "Read only", the computer will not allow ANY program from making ANY changes to the file what so eva! =)

Right click your image file and click properties.

If read-only is check, uncheck it and click OK.

That should fix your problem if that was it.

ok decided to start from scatch, downloaded new ISO, unchecked read-only box, to make sure that the ISO worked I decided to try running it before patching it but the emulator says:

"Warning: ISO read overflow"
"Warning: ISO read overflow"
"Warning: ISO read overflow"
"Warning: ISO read overflow"
(it repetes this like 50+ times)

what do I do to fix this, is there even anything I con do to fix this?

I doubt you can fix this. I remember making backups "normal" and not "playstation" format and after burning them it would freeze on a weird PSX logo.

It's not in the good format, people are pretty stupid to host/upload/share images they didn't test themselves.
