This is one of the reasons why i am often more hating of myself then anything else. I always feel like the units are never doing exactly what i need them to do. Because of how i design my units i am almost always trying to make redundancy in my team for keeping them alive. Revive for me is the exact problem i have with my units refusing to actually revive when its the most important thing for me to have them to do. This is what made me salty so much recently with this patch. The redundant design i had before worked better before for me... but now the AI never seemed to work with my plans.

I was really really worried i would have gotten skunked in this tournament. I really hope no one else goes through that. but none the less it is a bit of a relief. Eternal definitely had the higher power. but with my team i tried to design it with redundancies everywhere to try and cancel out damage. Moogle Bloodsword Chakra and Cure 3. With revive Fairy and raise. i am always worried about a unit going down and it being my last reviver. When i have the room to actually keep half the team out of combat range. This team seems to do better. I hope after the tournament to try and revise this team a bit. make it more. combat ready. Still none the less. I hope eternal's next match goes alot better for him

PS: Barren.. YES i know its not my team in this one.. i am simply perfectly countered by truelight. I be more mad at myself if it wasn't truelight kicking my ass. It was more the fact that it was a lingering at 0 wins that was bothering me so much. Since that first win of the season. my spirit has been far higher. GG truelight. Proving yourself to be one of the best team builders.

Round 1. God damn all that MA buildup. I counted. at the end of the round... the bard had 25MA and the scholar had 22MA if i am correct that would be around 300 raw dmg bahamuts and 140 raw dmg Thunderflares (thunder strengthen + magic attack up increase MA to 35). I... never seen any stats get that high before. i was actually hoping for something like that to come out.. i am sorry Alfa...

Round 2. Whelp... i kinda deserved that after round 1. Status is always gonna be this teams greatest downfall. always. i had to give up protections to them in order to maximize damage output. shows how much of an issue it could be.

Round 3. I am so so lucky that Dragon spirit went off. With everyone's brave being at 40 all the reaction skills are not gonna be perfectly common. If i did put brave up to 70 sure i would get more reactions.. but i would not have survived that crossbow shot. GG alfa that was a good match. I am sorry your team had to be the first one to have to go against that. i think i am starting to get a grasp of 1.4 though.

I think i may add that Bio suggestion. With the fact MA is constantly increasing on my team it would not need Cure 3 on that scholar. Originally i wanted to put raise.. but with the idea of needing to oil. yea i think i am gonna go with that. I think i figured it out with my team. Large maps work fine because it gives time for the bard to charge up while laying hits on the enemy. while small maps are too clustered to avoid the bahamuts. I think only medium maps are gonna be a bit of a pain with this team.

Edit: just went to check the team... i would have to drop a spell to give the scholar Bio. as it stands decreasing Cure 3 to cure 2 only gives 50 jp. and the scholar is capped at 3000. i am short 50 at the moment. and the rest of the skills are vital to the build. dang. only thing i can think of is switching out dragon spirit. but i am afraid that it may mess up with the backup plan of it going off.


I think i need a nap still. i have not slept enough today and just happened to see a vid was available when i got back from a small errand. when i get back. i think i am gonna rebuild my rock dropping team. I need at least three teams for variety sakes. and i rather my thunderbolt and dragons team not be the only thing i have active at this time.

also congrats on the new laptop. it seems to be doing really well!~

Round 1 was a perfect display of just exactly what i was planning. it had me hyped to see how much further it could go.

Round 2 became an endurance match. Round 3 ended the same way as round 2. though alot quicker... the petrification is killer on my team.. and only my scholar can cancel it... because its so rare... i feel its not that big of a concern.

GG DW definitely got the win there... and i am more than happy with this team. it was far more effective then i expected it to be.

also to Barren about the team set-up. I mostly set the paladin up so that slowly he would gain stronger power. The brave 70 was meant so that when he did attack his weapon would become deadly. Basically my paladin was similar to reks' jumping dancer of doom. just starting from a far lower level. Where hers would one hit rather quickly. mine would take some more time to charge up. During which time his lay on hands would get stronger. I didn't want him don't acted so i went with defender over chaos blade due to me feeling that 1 WP would not have mattered much in the end all calculations. The Overwhelm to bolster both healing and hurt from him. if we only had the chance to actually let go of all that charge those wiznabus built onto us. Ahh well. This is the team i feel is most "complete". just the odds were so heavily against us. I wonder if that doublestrike mime glitch will be patched... or if its running as intended. i am not currently sure.

for me 1.39 made sense once i got behind the math of everything... but with the changes i have to consider everything again. I think the fact that alot of my previous ideas that functioned correctly are now lopsided and its gonna take time for me to compensate. The main reason i have not been testing recently is because i have lost 4/5ths of my harddrive space and have gone into a very careful harddrive management state since. Been afraid to download or make anything because of it. I really need to get 1.4 installed on my system... and figure out all the settings for PSX again. i had it so nice before.

I showed my team to Barren, CT5, and a couple others and each one had different suggestions where I was able to culminate what you see today.

I'd be happy to look at your team any time, but I know you're close with Reks and I'm sure he'd be able to help you too in creating your team(s) going forward. When you'd make it, it'd still be "your" team...it just means you're getting a second opinion to see if you missed anything or if it could be optimized better. For example, there are certain abilities I almost never look at and forget about that could boost my  team. Even though they are right there in the MG, I overlook them. Perhaps you are too?

I am not totally sure you know... but based on what you said... you did not.... I did have it reviewed by other people... i even made small changes to try and counter the effects of the ai on stupidity. originally my blackmage had poison on its skill line. so i just need to relearn this patch's AI. too much has changed and it has fully thrown me off. At least last patch i knew half of what i was doing. i actually felt i was getting a grasp of things... 1.4 has made me feel like i am retarded and its gonna take me time to get out of this 100% loss rut. again... need to relearn the algorithms the AI impliments... hopefully after the tournament... i can go back.. and start anew with my teams for this patch.

Something tells me i should have put PA save on that paladin somehow... he has enough points to do it. Sighs hindsight is 20/20... Still all the evading of my holies doesn't help this at all... my moral is slowly reaching zero at this rate.. but after this... i am gonna rethink everything with 1.4... 1.4 has literally been the bane of my mind... also surprise.. team has no dragon and still ends up not being able to do anything but barely gasp at the edge.

1st unit The team is designed to be status protected more than anything else. The reason i didn't go with 108 gems is to allow better protection from far worse issues such as charm and poison. Triangle hat to prevent innocent and black robes to cover the three element strengthening. The primatic rod simply for covering water. that is really it. as for Caution. i rather her be able to at least attempt to dodge rather than gettting whacked.

2nd unit. I understood the risk with using the bloodsword on my berserker. i also understood what i was doing with my items for him as well. He will never be broken out of berserk because of the maintanence support skill i gave him preventing breaks and more importantly to this analysis.. Thefts. He has no use for abilities if he is never getting out of berserk so again status immunity made more sense to me here.

3rd unit. I wanted this unit to try and reduce the enemy and its about time books got a good chance. She is the support healer of the team!

4th unit. in case your wondering about steal. its mostly so that it can be effected by martial arts. the steal abilities are effected by martial. it should counter the issue with missing.

yea i did try it once before... it confused the heck out of me originally. i will try and figure it out though. as for all the advice... yea i am definitely gonna start taking a look at everything. personally though i prefer to try and have at least one unit focusing on bahamut in almost all my teams. i just have to plan it out alot better is all. i can't have 4 units that do great seperately but have a horrible team. i need to make a great team of four units working flawlessly with each other supporting and whatever. i think the biggest issue is i am so focused on covering everyone with ways of reviving that i am not getting what i need... i don't know i will have to think hard about things for teams in the future.

While i understand its kinda strange for me to be using a bard with a book i was coming with the idea that he is not meant to be the damage dealer of the team. I wanted the Squire to secure that role. as such i never made the bard have that high fury faith because i wanted him to be safe and secure. in hindsight i should increase his faith to 70 to bolster his abilities. the reason he is a bard is because of the songs. I personally wanted him to boost the team up with the songs he has i put onto him. the summon magic was more as an afterthought. The mime is on the team to try and increase the effects of the songs a bit more or to cover what the bard doesn't hit with them. The mime definitely however should be 70 Fury. he is simply not doing enough for me to like and i will side with everyone when they say that. hindsight is 20/20.

The biggest issue... is i kinda feel helpless against any team that has a stupidly high speed stat. it kinda makes me feel why should i bother creating any other team if speed is the only thing that seems to matter 90% of the time. and its kinda frustrating as it feels limiting and i kinda feel obligated to build teams that literally are nothing but speed just so i can win... and i kinda would feel it as a bit of a shallow win personally. I always loved trying to find a way to think outside of a box and come at a problem in a way that is different. its just kinda... feeling like my ideas are going nowhere is all.

Another key thing that is getting to me... is the fact that i have not once won a match in this patch. it almost feels like the luck is so bad for me i just end up getting paired with teams that just happen to counter perfectly. last season at least i won 30ish % of my games. i am currently on a 7 match loss streak. its kinda discouraging and technically its not anyones fault. its more the fact the dice are not rolling in my favor.

Edit: i just looked through my team i had up just now... and realized... WHY THE HELL WAS MY BARD AT 70 FURY?! no wonder he took so much damage. *palm to face* at least now the team is a bit more proper... i may have to figure out a zodiac synergy with them as well. Serpentarius has always given me problems.

bug with Two Swords skill makes the JP cost total N/a If you use two swords in your team build. your gonna have to calculate that unit manually

Edit 1: Happens with Move-MP UP as well... i am gonna go through and check other skills

Edit 2: went down the list with wizard as the primary skill... it happens with almost every single skill... am i doing something wrong?
