That is awesome.  The only real criticism I can provide is that Frog was supposed to be short due to his condition and had a jumping walk animation.  I'm not sure how doable either of those are, however, so what you have is just fine.

I like it.

Is he shorter than Crono? If so, I think the Frog should be based from the 10 yr old boy.

@MiKeMiTchi

A very good suggestion, Mike.  I start with this initial version and then work on a more accurate version based off the 10 year-old boy. ^_^

@SilvasRuin

Thanks for the criticism.  I would probably not be able to do the jumping animation, but thanks to Mike's suggestion, a shorter version should actually be feasible. ^^

Haha. Thanks for considering it. Good luck!

Oh btw, the latest one can be used as a sprite for Glenn's human form.
For the hair, use the female Archer's hair. It fits well, imo.

I have placed Frog in the New Shishi format, since the new Shishi will make it much easier to get this sprite done.  Not much in the way of an update, but I'm slowly progressing forward. ^_^

Another update.  Behold, a portrait!

After learning that portrait's use their own palette of 16 colors, I realized that I could keep Frog's original portrait from CT with just a little editing.  Yeah, it's pretty shameless to go and just take the old image, but considering how complex Frog's face would be to do myself, I opted to go the route of simply tweaking the one from Chrono Trigger.  What do you all think?

It's all properly sized for placement in the spritesheet, and consists of exactly 16 colors.

looks pretty = )
but doesn't fit with fft portrait style i think is very hard doing a portrait to the frog maybe you can base it on a monstero or a lucavi

Well, considering Frog IS something of a "monster", having a different style from the human faces isn't necessarily bad.

You have a point there Saigas. . . making it FFT style will make it look creepy and have leather like skin like the reptile brother we see which is the dragon. . . I picture it to look like this if done in FFT style which is. . . a No No

My thoughts exactly, Seushiro.  Which is why I'll stick with the original for now.

If I am inspired to change it later, I will. ^^

yep or we find a way to take out its big open mouth and close it to be more similar to FFT ports which do not smile. . .

Saigas, use the other Frog full body for reference. (the one with closed mouth, looks neutral)

The problem is in the fact that I am very poor at fully editing the portrait (which was the reason I had been asking for someone better to do it).  I'm aware that using his excited looking, open-mouthed sprite from CT matches neither the style nor the neutral expression on his actual sprite's body, but I am not skilled enough to edit the picture beyond resizing, palette-swapping, and removing the slight bit of excess color from the original.

If someone else would like to take a crack at making him close-mouthed and neutral, please have at it. ^_^

At long last it is completed!!!

Face is properly converted after much grueling effort.  This marks the completion of my very first sprite, and the second Chrono Trigger Sprite on the site: Frog!

Thanks.  I'll get to work on one after I experiment with some other projects.

This sprite is now available for download in the "Sprite Submission" section of the site!  ^_^
