Hey, i'm an important nobody that knows nothing of hacking but is willing to learn.  I'm really looking forward to the mercenaries patch.  Looking forward to learning on how to get this FFTpatcher working.

I have a question first:

1. How do you make your own custom job (if possible)

Well, you'd first get the patcher, then go to the Jobs section, where you'd go to an 'empty' job and edit it as you please, as well as giving it an 'empty' skillset as well. Then you'd get FFTactext and edit the job name and the skillset name.

I'm guessing that covers all you wanted out of that custom job, right?

Pretty much, thanks a lot, i also have a question about spriting, i don't have the UNIT.BIN, where do i find it?  Thanks for the help

UNIT.BIN is inside a FFT.ISO

it's one of the files used by the game

you can extract it with CD MAGE or CD PROG, found in the downloads section

aah, i'll just use a PSX (i think it is) version then.

Mainly i just want to do some spriting, would the psx version be easier for that?

Talk to Sentinel his tutorial helped me with hacking unit.bin and world.bin.

yeah, pretty much the psx version is better for everything.

Zozma is right the PSX version is better but I learned on the PSP version so I prefer it barnone.
