Some of your ideas sound pretty cool, if you would like to see some other ideas, i would suggest skimming thru the New Project Ideas section,
there is lots of fun ideas there, tho most haven't ever made it out of that section due to being abandoned, some are still quite a lot fun or cool
ideas there that might spark your interest

Is there a simple way to have for every event (I know this is gonna sound boring) the camera just sorta nice and fixed (no rotations or map rotations) and then right when the event begins just Focus() from then on on the unit that is speaking? So actually in a sense like FF1, whoever talks gets a camera focus. You know what I mean? Also is there an easy way of figuring out where text balloons will show up? Having them always show up more or less centered above the speaking unit would be fine for now I suppose...


You can steal anything you want XD, thats why i sent them to you, just don't use my dialogue :P

yes you would need to have the camera setup to be in that spot and set them all to very low time, you will see some of this in my events.
also as long as you are using the 12 command (as you already are) in the speech box, it will center of the chars head, but your char wasnt on the camera :P

I agree FDC, If it wasnt for all the help i have on my mod it would be much harder to do, since it is quite large, but with the proper help we've managed to get most of the entire first chapter done in less then 4 months, (Only 3 more events and then abilities and balancing to do and it will be out) granted, I'm on FFH majority of the day, but still.

This recruitment idea was what prompted several people to ask for my help in Event editing which will in turn lessen there workload as well and produce mods faster, While at the same it time helps me learn more
information that will help in the process of the tutorial I'm working on for event editing.

So while this section may not be as useful to some, it has definitely has been useful to me, if not only for the fact that it was a place for me to offer the extra help that people may have otherwise not asked for  :mrgreen:

I just downloaded this and it looks very nice already, it's very helpful to someone like me, where i have done alot with ENTD but nothing with abilities personally.
Also, I was wondering if you guys could add in the 2 missing flags under immortal in ENTD or the one under Has ??? Stats? I don't even know what these are personally, but I'm sure
they could be useful

I know that there isn't too much code, I wanna keep my events as simple and easy as possible, plus there is no reason whatsoever for anything fancy in the opening scene...


xD JON!, your still not doing the camera right lol, you need to setup it up the way I showed you :P

Once I'm more awake i will show you exactly what went wrong here :D

EDIT: Awake now, okay "King Cornelia" isnt near the camera which will cause an issue, and you don't need the focus, normally when i use focus it doesnt work until the set camera moves over that person, which yours does not

Also your cameras are set different.. (the have different numbers) they shouldn't be until after the 3 initial camera settings :P (see the events i sent you, they are identical (or at least the first 2 are, with the only difference being the time))

You also have you X, and Y setup not far enough, which is why the camera doesn't go to the part of the screen that it should

One more thing you FOCUS is setup wrong as well, since focus your suppose to use the same ID twice, should look like

Focus(x80,x00,x80,x00,x00), you have 2 of them, one is setup incorrectly

The main issue i see is that you have a lot of small things that do not need to be there at all, see the last message i posted and how much of your event i moved, tho none of it would change what you were trying to do, it was simply not needed  :mrgreen:

As far as I know, you can't change the text. You can change the background for the title screen and the SCEAP, but not that.


I believe he meant the title screen, but i could be wrong

Also if you look at the Goug Events, there is another trigger before it that i believe may have something to do with this, as i have tried this myself.

haven't successfully managed just how to figure out the sidequests yet

You will need to ope FFTP and go to ENTD 100 (such as in my tutorial) and you will need to go to one of the empty space below the other chars and add in values for Orlandu.
Once you did this and save FFTP you will need to edit the First event in the game with several command as well as shift some dialogue around to make room for your new dialogue
I apologize if this seems somewhat Vague, but if you still have trouble lemme know and i will post some screenshots

most of those are unknown commands Jon :P thats why they are like that, also the numbers are there since that is there command number, once you get more used to it, you WILL be glad they are there as not having them would actually be harder to use

Now, Raven, one thing i might suggest is to make things like 1B Unknown, instead be 1B ?? this way would make it easier to FIND certain commands such as WarpUnit or others that tend to be the same word length as Unknown, making them a bit more hidden or hard to find on the fly :D. If it would be to much work to change its no big deal, just a suggestion for anyone new to EasyVent as i know it made it a bit difficult for me at first

EDIT: Jon, what exactly are you trying to use it for? I've never had to use any more then the (now) known commands for any of my events :P  Tho if you do happen to test and find out what these do, be sure to post it, the more commands that are uncovered the better  :mrgreen:

I still haven't updated the changelog, but rest assured i have been very busy working on making the last few events for Chapter 1 as perfect as I can, in addition to other things. More updates to come soon  :mrgreen:
