Naw....Still far from perfect. Besides, that portrait turns out that way because of Smash's help. You can see the difference between his and my attempt. So without his major help, that isn't the portrait you'll be looking.

I've been working on a sprite to go along with this portrait.

Right now its little more than a headswap, but I just thought I'd show its progress so far.

You should give him a name.

portrait: I don't like the mouth. What happened to him?
The hair was from the priest right? It had a different hair 'angle' compared to the face.
The glasses could use some angle, too.

I deleted one of the pixels from the mouth to try and give it a more neutral disposition. I'm not very good with hair at all, so I'm not really sure how to go about editing its angular discrepancies.

Looks like we're starting to get some more deft criticism going around here. Good pick up on the hair angle. I was going to comment on that too.

I updated the portrait, I hope this fixed the issues with the hair's angle.

Not bad. Though, I think his right side hair need some fix. Hmm...

Angle on glasses is better. Add shading there, too.
Then, move the smile one pixel to the left.

Oh, just found out that his name is Dylan.

Well, it was supposed to be a neutral, kinda apathetic look, but I guess it ended up just looking depressed.

edit: The name Dylan is actually my name, since he looks alot like me, but I doubt thats the name I'll submit him with once completed, since using my own name seems a bit...egotistical.

I think you should fix the eyebrow on this one last time it was covered by the bangs. . . I think the brow should be slanting and not looking straight. . . straight eyebrows is used when depicting a shocked look with the character's the eyebrows going up. . .

there now he looks more focused. . . I don't know if he seems a bit angry or not but expression is better and more FFT like now. . .

*edit: just noticed it now on a PC without a graphics card. . . face shading needs some work. . .
