Yeah but you need the palette's, it's a real pain in the ass.

Yeah, its the damn palettes that make it hard. If I had those I would have assembled them all by now.

CidIII you have photoshop?
If you do I'd be mighty happy if you got some of the palettes for me.

No, I do not; however, I can do you one better.

I found a program that exports .pal files!

It works great just tried it.

Go to this site: http://www.alister.eu/palsuite/downloads.html

Download Version 2.32

Start it up, and open the bitmap file (.bmp, I know you probably know this

According to my sources they do use a 256 color palette. I'm sure that one of the colors present in the file has to be the 'clear' color. Maybe if you convert a file into a bmp and view the palette we'd learn something useful.

I renamed E005.BIN to E005.bmp and it still couldn't open it.

When I try to open with InfraView it says "Decode error"

"Can't load plug-in QUICKTIME.DLL"

*Edit, I loaded quicktime.dll and it still has a decode error*

**Edit what do you mean convert, actually convert it or just rename?**

FFTView.exe is the only known program that can open effect files and convert them into BMP format. Effect files contain a lot of compressed data and non-graphical data.

I just wish the damn thing could insert BMPs back into the effect file.

Probably not. It might be worth a try though. The thing is we need to know the compression method.
