ZAREB! TIME TO ROCK N' ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously you're gonna kick my ass....or are you? :D

I'm kind-of scared of your Berserked gunners, to be quite frank.  Lol.  I'm hoping that they won't take-out my Monks and/or break their helmets before they both at least proc Dragon Spirit.  Even then.... we'll see.  Weeeeeeee'lllllll seeeeeeee.  Punk!

To the RNG: Please be in my favour... for the sake of my children!

EDIT: Actually, it could be the Don't Move spam that screws me over...

First wanna say this:  I was laughing at first when the first four or five Secret Fists missed, but after that it was pretty infuriating, to be honest.  LOL.  Besides that, it was an entertaining match.  Samurai was certainly MVP since she caused my Monks to go into debuffing loops.  Also, Oil was definitely useful!  Paladin was annoying, as well, but it was really that Samurai that put me in my place!  Blackmail was annoying, too, and damn that Slow....

Secret Fist... missed!  Secret Fist... missed!  I'm going to have nightmares about this match for quite a while now.

GG, Otabo!

Yup, you were right about the Geomancers and their lower HP... definitely didn't want the Monks to be targeted often!  It's too bad that I didn't post my newest version of the team sooner... if you liked this version of Browncoats, I think you may like my newest version even more.  Let me know what you think of the changes, and thanks for recording and sitting through that match.

I'm also in.  PM'd you my team, Barren.

Because a formula will have only one modifiable value (X or Y) or two modifiable values (X and Y).  For example, formula "2D Dmg_(PA*(WP+Y)) PE" only has one modifiable value (Y), and formula 09 "Dmg_(Y/100%) Hit_F(MA*X%) ME" has two modifiable values (X and Y) to determine the final numbers.  As for why X is used to represent one part of a formula and Y the other, I don't really think it matters.  In short, trying to set an X value for formula 2D wouldn't do anything, but setting a Y value will.

Hey everyone,

I was using the 1.3 season 5 tournament .PPF as a base for my own tournament hack, but sadly found-out that 1.3 was using some custom ASM hacks at that time and said ASM hacks were conflicting with my own.  So, I searched for the "base" tournament .PPF and found it in an old archive made my Xifanie.  I have it attached to this thread in-case any of you are interested in downloading it.  This version only has the ASM required to make the tournament hack itself work.

For the record, that took 2 minutes. ASM isn't as scary as everybody thinks :(

Thanks, you lovely human being!

Shameful bump.

Hey guys, this will be the last ASM request I'll be making before my patch is released; would be golden if this was done for me.  Again, thanks!

Hey guys,

I'm planning on releasing a tournament patch within a week or so and would like for this modification to be made to Float for said patch.  If it's too difficult to disable Float's Earth immunity, then I would gladly accept its immunity to be changed to Fire, Lightning or Ice.  Thanks to whomever considers making this hack for me.

Could you post the images as actual images? A lot of people probably don't want to be downloading random stuff and there's no rule against posting your screenshots.  :U

As for your animation error, it's because you took a sprite with an SP2 file and placed it in a Sprite slot incapable of handling SP2 files correctly, most likely.  Do the exact same test, but instead of what you did, go into the ENTD and set Rad's spriteset to the existing monster Behemoth slot.  Takes a bit of fenaggling to find but it's doable.  Alternative, replace an easily accessible sprite that DOES have an SP2 file such as Byblos/Apanda for your test.  They should be able to use it fine though, as Attack's animation is merely a 070000 call with no added special effects.  Giving a monster this kind of skill through other means has no ill effects.

As for getting them to use Attack... I got it to work before.  I believe I set their primary skillset to "05" using Xifanie's Generic Skillset Fix then fiddled with their Primary/Secondary setup somehow.  This method also allows them to access their Monster Skill without need of having Monster Skill around so they can have 4 skill options instead of 3.

Thanks, Raven, for you aided in bringing all of this to a close.  I won't be able to pursue what I exactly want to do, but I'll figure something out.

Choto,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I ended-up doing what you said; I gave a monster Behemoth Basic Skill, but his Attack option was greyed-out.  I don't know what else to do, and I have a feeling that this goal of mine may be impossible to pursue.

Thanks,

Hello,

Recently, I was curious to see if a monster sprite in-game could successfully use Attack without having its animations bug-up.  So, I went into Shishi, selected 5F Male Squire, and overwrote the Male Squire spritesheet with the Behemoth spritesheet.  I changed the SHP and SEQ to MON and decided to test the change in-game.

I started a new game and proceeded to control Rad, who was now looking like a Behemoth, during the Orbonne Monastery battle.  I first used Attack on Ramza, and the result was the Behemoth Rad simply jumping in place rather lifelessly... and that's it.  Ramza took the damage dealt, but it wasn't displayed, nor did it look like Behemoth Rad attacked Ramza at all.

I decided to then attack Agrias, and I accessed her from her left, 1H lower than her current position.  The result was a normal attack sequence; nothing was bugged at all.

At this time, I thought that it simply has to do with the elevation somehow, so I decided to move Agrias and attack her from a higher elevation.  The result was the same as the time when I attacked Ramza.

I proceeded to test the elevation with a couple of different units, and nothing new occurred.

So, two questions:
1) Why does this animation error occur; and
2) Would it be possible to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
- Zareb

Barren, please don't post any more matches with teams I have removed.  Thank-you.

As for the match, most of it happened as expected: my Samurai being worthless, my Oracle being worthless and my two Ninjitsu users simply not doing enough overall damage.  Which is why I removed this team.  Lol.  Oh well, GG.

Probably when 138b is out. My plan is to release 138 tomorrow(delayed due to some small problems) with the old title screen. From there, I'll leave the version as latest for maybe a week or 2, and then release 138b, maybe call it 1.0 if I feel happy enough with it.

Glad to read that .138b is being released tomorrow.  I look forward to spending many hours striving for the "perfect" team.

Oh, and I like MiKeMiTchi 2 the most.

FFT Arena 1.37b Zaes (The Heathers) vs Zareb (IRPO)

As soon as I saw the 200~ damage Chiri, I knew that I lost; that Pole-wielding Samurai surely didn't help me out, heh.  As teams before The Heathers proved, a good Draw Out unit makes a team.  Change that Ninjitsu Squire around and you've yourself an even better team, Zaes.  GG!

FFT Arena 1.37b Vigilanti (State of Conflict) vs Zareb (IRPO)

....

IRPO has always been designed around elemental absorb in some shape or form, sticking together and depending on one another.  Unfortunately, as I've learned through much trial-and-error, this can easily work against me (especially against teams that use a fair amount of AoE and can manage on a large map).  Running Teleport/Fly on all of my units is quite the gamble, as it can just as easily keep my units separated from one another as keeping them within arm's length.

I may have Esuna, but that won't stop something like, well, Stop.  That status, alongside Charm and Frog, are very effective ways to end my units' lives swiftly.  If your Thief used Armor Break more often, I think that you would have won all three rounds.  Also, if your Lancers chose to jump more often, that would have aided you much more than those misguided pokes they kept churning-out; thank goodness I had Main Gauches.  Tight paths like the ones in the second round map are enders for my units, as well.  If the Squires can't stick together for that Koutetsu healing, well... yeah.  The Stops didn't help, either!

I try to build for maximum synergy, but I have to sacrifice so much (normally status protection and damage).  My units' high Faith may protect me from Ninjitsu, allow easy resurrection and status-healing capabilities, but against any team that has offensive units that rely on said Faith can make things very challenging for me.  During the past week or so, I've been working on a 40/55 and a 40/40 team for this reason alone.

Anyway, it was an enjoyable match to watch; GG, Vigilanti!  As well, thanks for recording, editing and commentating, Barren!

....

FFT Arena 1.37b Zareb (IRPO) vs Fantactic1316 (The Black Mages)

I've mutated IRPO quite a bit, and I have to say that the build in this video was probably one of the better versions.  During the past two days, I've kind-of ruined my team, so it's nice to have this to fall back on.  Good game to you, Fantactic!

I'll be handling Match 80 tomorrow so stay tuned for more loser's bracket matches (if you hadn't tuned out already)

And a personal update my mom is actually getting better (for those who read my post in the arena videos and discussion thread know what i'm talking about) and I should be able to finish the tournament as scheduled.

Thanks again everyone for your support. Like I said at the end of the message I'll be back in action before you know it!

Glad to hear that your mother is doing better, Barren!
