Neither do I, but I know that there are ASM hacks that make certain skills innate, and their are ASM hacks for changing certain variables, so I don't think adjusting range would be that difficult.  However, I have a feeling that a lot of people are annoyed by the limitations of monsters and would love to see Monster Skill removed and monster skill lists expanded.  I doubt you and I are the first people to think about this, so I'm sure if people knew how to do it, it would have been done by now.  

My way seems like a crappy, yet plausible work around. I'm currently about to either start learning how to create and modify events, or start ASM hacking.  If I start ASM hacking I'll make monster skill my top priority, but don't count on it.

I'm sorry.  I just re-read my OP.  Even though I wrote "Is this doable?", the meaning behind it, in my mind, was "Has this been done yet?"  Which is what I was actually trying to ask.  I read your post thinking that you had answered what I meant, rather then what I wrote.  In retrospect it seems that your post wasn't a snotty remark.

Thanks Bastard, I can't wait until this weekend when I can fill up my Android phone with all of this cool new metal.  I use the word poppy because it means more then just melodic.  To me it infers catchy pseudo-pop melody.  Pop is the worst adjective for a genre as it truly has no meaning.  "Musician's" (yes the quotations are intentional) like NSYNC, Brittany Spears, and just about anything dominating the pop charts, are all just super catchy (not for me mind you) inter genre'd songs.  

To me Pop music is died in the 80's along with Pop Art.  When I think of Pop, I think of David Bowie.  I think of artfully catchy things.  Not to be confused with what's currently in the top 40.  So, no disrespect.  I really do need to get away from that word, because I can pretty much guarantee that its going to offend most Metal enthusiasts.

No need.  Your signature was one of the first things I read and memorized from day one.  A simple no would have sufficed.  I'm not versed on what can and cannot be done in event editing yet, as I'm only now about ready to start learning how to do it.

You know, what I need to do is to learn ASM hacking and increase the range of monster skill to 255, and make it innate for everybody.  I image that's a pretty steep chore.

Can you add random battles to story-only battle locations?  For example, I always thought it was a huge waste to have great maps like Fort Zeakden with its snow and its bridge only useable once.  I'd like to turn it into a random battle map.  Is this doable?

Regarding Boco, I heard from Raven last night that Boco has its own spriteset, meaning that I can potentially make a white-paletted Chocobo, give it the Trickster class, and give it to Wiggy. Raven also told me how to make enemy units mount chocobos, so that's something I'll consider as well.

Did Raven tell you in chat, pm, or in a post?  If it was a post, would you mind providing us with a link so we can do it as well?

You made item innate for all units.  I thought about doing that but I was worried that it was too unbalanced.  Have you considered capping the amount of items per battle to keep things from getting out of hand.  

Oh, and explain the skills a bit more.  I'm pretty interested in some of them.

I just found out about this recommendation website called tastekid.com.  I did a search on dethklok and I got several recommendations.  I haven't had a chance to go through them all yet but there is one that really stands out to me.  They are called Insomnium and their song Down with the Sun is pretty Klok-like.

Hey Samurai, that As I lay Dying song is fairly tits.  Does the rest of there stuff sound quite a bit like Dethklok?  Because I can't seem to find any metal I like more than them, and they're cartoons.  Do you know of any other metal that has poppy melodies and guitar oriented solos.  It just seems like everything that's as heavy as them is just repetitive crunch.  Over the last couple years Dethklok has reawakened my love of metal, but no other band can sate me.  Care to recommend anything?

fdc, you never cease to surprise me.  You always find intereting solutions.  I approve this option.  I think its probably something that should help preserve the overall balance of gameplay.

1) Pardon my inexperience but it looks like you have a difficult choice to make.  I could be wrong but it looks like you only have 2 options.  Lowering base speed or lowering CT.  If lowering the CT will cause a greater unbalance between high levels and low levels, it looks like the only option is to lower base speed and adjust every speed related formula.  

I did this very same thing with monster MA in order to create a "balanced" blue magic for humans.  It was incredibly tedious.  Thank god for cross multiplication.
