Able to equip a wide variety of weapons, Fighters can specialize for a wide variety of frontline roles beyond a simple sword. With abilities like Defend and Grit, they can shrug off some enemy attacks and effects, while attacks like Slam, Broadside, and Uppercut can overcome enemy defenses and create openings by inflicting Confuse or Sleep. Their most powerful ability, Prepare, gives them the ability to empower themselves before charging into battle. Chemist - Non-stat based, Short Range, Items, No Charge The Chemist class is your first primary healer and support class. Standard items can be purchased in stores, although some of the more dangerous items at a chemist's disposal will need to be purchased at less reputable stores, or even poached from wild animals, a skill second nature to chemists. Fencer - PA based, Short Range, No Cost, Charging The Fencer class is an evolution of a Fighter's combat skills. Their various sword techniques allow them to attack foes from a short distance after a brief charge time, although they do require a sword to use. Fencing requires adept footwork, and with their self-Haste "Shuffle" and "Footwork" movement ability granting JP on move, any soldier can benefit from some time as a Fencer. Sniper - PA based, Long Range, No Cost, No Charge The Sniper class is a ranged specialist. Their trademark Deadeye and Pyrosight attacks allow them to interrupt a Charging ability or damage a foe as long as the Sniper can see their target. Their other abilities allow them to pick their targets, weakening a foe with targeted shots or damaging an enemy's brave. Thief - SP based, Short Range, No Cost, No Charge Thieves bear the unique ability to steal their opponents equipment, making it your own. Extending beyond mere equipment, some thieves are able to steal their opponents HP, or silence foes with Steal Breath. Assassin - PA based, Short Range, MP Cost, Charging Assassin's are Melee combatants that manipulate their CT gauge to strike at the most pivotal moment. Requiring intense training and focus, Assassins are among the physically strongest of classes. Priest - MA/Faith based, Medium Range, MP Cost, Charging Priest is a holy mage, with a focus on restoring allies. Their instantaneous and 0 MP Cure allows them to heal a single ally at any time. With Mass Heal and Refresh, they can heal large groups of allies and even restore MP. Bless gives the ability to revive groups of allies by purging the power of death from an area. A Priest's stronger spells can be draining and also require time for the Priest to receive the power to cast the spell. Wizard - MA-based, Medium Range, MP Cost, Charging Wizards are offensive mages, able to use basic spells, such as Magic Missile and Black Web endlessly to damage foes or inflict Slow and Oil. Other spells, such as Acid Splash and Chain Lightning allow the wizard to engage a group of enemies with their spells. A wizard's stronger spells can be draining and also require time for the wizard to cast the spell. Cultist - MA/Faith-based, Long Range, No Cost, Charging Cultist are advanced mages that incorporate wicked magic into their spells, with spells such as Ghost Fire and Vile Bolt to inflict damage and status effects. Pain can instantly poison, silence and blind a foe, and a Cultist 's Bio has a chance to inflict Frog. Their power over dark magic also allows them to influence the undead, forcing them to do their bidding or run in horror. A Cultist 's Hexes take time to perform, but require no MP. Psychic - MA-based, Long Range Psychic are unorthodox mages that invade their foes' minds. Requiring only line of sight to impose their willpower on an enemy, they can also bolster or hamper Brave or Faith when not inflicting status ailments on enemies. Star Mage - MA-based, Long Range, MP cost, Charging Star Mages draw magic power from the stars and constellations in the sky. Able to produce a wide variety of effects to both allies and enemies, Star Mages are unique in their ability to increase another character's attributes during battle. Blue Mage - PA/MA-based, All Range, No Cost, No Charge Blue Mages are able to mimic the abilities of beasts and monsters, but only after being struck by the ability themself. Once learned, Blue Mages can replicate monster skills at will. This, in turn, has made Blue Mages much more physically powerful than other Mages, but also able to deal with a variety of situations with a varied skillset. Druid - Non-stat based, Long Range, No Cost, No Charge Druids draw their power from the ground beneath their feet, wrapping allies with restorative power and providing positive status effects depending on the terrain they stand upon. Without a charge time or MP cost, and their abilities not being stat based, Druids are the ultimate support unit suitable for any class. Dragoon - PA/MA based, Long Range, No Cost, Charge Dragoons are heavily armed warriors that model their fighting style off Dragons, unleashing devastating MA-based breath attacks or PA-based jump attack from afar. *Warning: This class currently has a glitch associated Hitokiri - PA/MA based, Medium Range, Item Cost, No Charge Hitokiri are warrior mages, able to focus their magic through specially made katanas to devastate their foes. Trained specially to kill, a Hitokiri's abilities all have a chance to Dispel Protect, Shell, Regen, and Reraise. Ninja - SP-based, Long Range, Item Cost, No Charge Ninja are agile warriors, able to quickly blink in and out of combat, viciously attacking with their two weapons or throwing weapons from afar. Their focus on all-out offense and speed however leaves them vulnerable to attacks with low HP. Crusaders - MA/Faith based, Short Range, MP Cost, No Charge Crusaders are magic masters. Able to unleash devastating spells over wides area at short range, heal all of their allies, banish undead or steal MP from others, Crusaders are truly the peak of magic power. Bard - PA/MA based, Short Range, No Cost, Charging Bards are highly mobile combatants, capable of affecting the surrounding area with their persistent songs, they can fulfill many different roles in combat. Their ability to use any weapon only further adds to their versatility. Berserker - PA-based, Short Range, HP Cost, No Charge Berserker are powerhouse Melee fighters, capable of tearing through enemies with their Rage attacks, or even breaking an enemy's weapon with Sunder, Berserkers are a force to be reckoned with. *Warning: This class currently has a glitch associated Reaper - PA/MA/WP-based, No Cost, Charging A masterful mage and warrior that has received a blessing from the underworld itself.
