Well, the PLANNED change is to give all knives +1 move, and +1 speed...

There is a great reaso nbehind this; every other weapon in the game has an obvious reason to choose one or the other.

Early on, knives dont even do half the damage swords do. And when your a wizardish character, you would most likely choose a Focus Item over anything else for the extra MA/HP/MP(yay weapon slots)

the stat bonuses bring them up ot snuff, even later in the game, for obvious reasons... theres nothing bad to be gained from +1 move

All in all though, does this seem a bit drastic? or will this proceed to actually be useful, if slightly overpowered?

I don't know what other items will boost movement in your patch at the moment, but unless you've removed Two Swords, I'll estimate up to three extra movement range with equipment alone.  With a Move +2 ability, that's nine movement on a job with four base movement.  That bonus is probably a little too potent if these other bonuses remain in the patch.  Of course those were already bad to begin with, but this would take it even further.

+1 spd would be enough in vanilla, but I don't know what you've added to other equipment.  I'm not a big fan of extra move.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

Two swords is removed, save for Amplifiers, but they cant equip weapons.

It took alot of thought, but i think im going ot release the update with the +1 movement, seeing as the AI takes Knives ALOT of the time over a Focus Item(the katanas...i need a new graphic) it will help keep it fair.

Just try and give the knives some nasty status effect like the assassin daggers had or the blood sword.

I think +1 move is not a bad idea, although I'd like them to have some evasion. Not WE, because you'd have to equip weapon guard. I mean evasion just like a shield or mantle.. is that possible?

I thought i saw somewhere that it would override other reaction abilities tho, but I'm not sure. Would be very cool if not and then I want code.

Abilities onto items is something razele is working on. i dont plan to put this on them cause of the %chances of other reaction abilities firing might make weapon guard and/or counter together more deadly. even more so with counter drain. If its possible with my knowledge, its not something im interested in nerfing everything else for to balance it.

I think that innate Weapon Guard would only be apopriate on two weapons, the Main Gaunche, and the Defender, but other then that I think i'd be an awesome idea and would love to see it.
"Dave?  Are you there?"
"Yeah.  I can't get you through the cell now."
"You have to talk through the bratwurst from now on. I'm sorry. I didn't know it would do that."
