This is event skipper.  It doesn't skip most in-battle events, but it should cut out nearly every other event.

Hopefully I can now get it to actually SKIP events instead of cutting them out.

I'll post findings here too:

4301 - causes units in "Cadets" event to join silently.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

I don't really have the time to test something like this now, but it sounds like a SSCC vet's DREAM!

We'll see.  So far the best I can do is make every event show a message box that instantly closes.  This means that you'll see something flash on the screen at the end of every event that precedes a world map change.  Removing EVERYTHING from an event causes the world map to pretend like no event occurred.  This results in an event loop >.>

Also, no need to test this patch.  Feel free to use it, but I can't really use feedback until I've "finished."

=o Oh noes! Problem #1: the dark-blue background.

This occurs when someone uses a skill that makes the screen darken (like Fire, Potion, Wish, etc.)

Further editing causes this phenomenon to be always present.

Edit: this shows battle 1 b/c I went back to fix up the messes.  Seems to cause more messes, however -_-

spooky. I don't know how to fix it of course, but it would be a pretty interesting effect to be able to add or remove to the battle at will.

That would be cool if you could set the back ground to be dark blue for the first battle it would be like they are invading at night time =D

An odd question, is the Brave Story affected as far as you can tell, Vincent?

=o

I hadn't thought to check the Brave Story.  I had better.

And I do know how to make it dark blue during the whole of that battle (or, at least, I think I do) but I don't know why it happens. =/

Oh Vincent, have you ever removed the 7C from events? I was testing that and it seems to initialize the event I removed it and the event went right on by, I suggest you might want to use that for future reference? That is if you aren't already using it currently.

You HAVE to be kidding me. >.>

Okay, I'll do that from now on.  However, did you check the aftermath of such events? Sometimes there is a critical trigger that happens during an event, and if that trigger is skipped, the game won't continue.

And, as far as I can tell, the Brave Story uploads the same event that is used in the story, so that is skipped too.   :(

hmm? Which event did this work for?  I tried removing the 7C from some of my problem events, but nothing happened. Then again, I haven't tested an event that I haven't edited yet.

Edit: Didn't work for "Cadets" intro scene when all I did was remove 7C from beginning.

Hmm? How odd... that's where I tested it and it seemed to work fine?

Eh...? Cadets is the event where Ramza and Delita are first seen talking to each other, right? So all you did was cut the 7C out?  I move everything I cut out after "DB" which is the end of the event.  Did you replace 7C with 00 or something else?

Also, what happened in the battle after that? When I cut too much stuff out of that event, no other units joined the party.

Well in Mercenaries those units don't join, so I'm not really sure.

Upon further investigation, it would seem that 7C does not begin all events and many times it appears at the end of an event as well. I'm not really sure what it does, but perhaps you cut out something with 7C?  I don't know how it worked for you, but I'm coming along pretty well with most of the events anyway.

I've "finished" chapter1.  I was going to do all events like I did with the intro battle, but its too much work for so little reward on most of them.  You'll see when you try out the new intro battle.
