I had never played the PSP version of FFT so I jumped at the chance to play this mod. Not only did it live up to the hype, it exceeded my expectations more than I could have hoped. I'm not sure how else to say it, but I fell in love with Final Fantasy Tactics all over again.
The Rendezvous are spectacular and the Treasure Wheel afterward is nothing short of extraordinary. It feels so natural and well designed I feel robbed that it wasn't in the original release.
The translated Sound Novels need their own shout out as well. They are spectacular and so unique. If you haven't played them, you are in for one heck of a ride.
The post game content is beautiful and is everything I've ever wanted. It really enhances the entire game and rewards those who take the time to complete all the side quests and propositions.
There is plenty more to gush about, but I'm probably just gonna go play through it again instead of writing any more. You should too!

P.S. Be on the look out for new stuff to come out after this release. With TLW 2.0 as a base, we are in for some crazy new mods. I'm really excited and you should be too.

Works in Progress / Final Fantasy Tactics: Keen Sight

Keen Sight

Objective:
I wanted to create a mod where the Random Number Generation was shifted from Accuracy to Damage and so Final Fantasy Tactics: Keen Sight was born.
I will be modifying the game to change every aspect based around the design that all moves will never miss. The one exception is that I will not be making the statuses procs 100% on moves that do damage and apply status effects (example: Sword Skills)
In addition, I will be modifying formations and using my Alternate Map pack instead of Vanilla maps. This is to create specific formations around the RNG design change

Progress:
Still in testing, but all moves should now have a 100% hit ratio and I've modified formations of battles through the Algus Battle at the end of Chapter 1. Please let me know if you see a move without 100% accuracy!

Warning:
I know this is currently dumb and unbalanced! Definitely much to be done!


Please provide me any feedback or ideas as you wish! As always, I'm open to constructive criticism!

The 1st Pass of an alternate version of all Story Maps in FFT has been completed

Please see original post for the .ppf and .zip of individual files.

The .ppf includes a special event created by Jumza. To see it visit the Thieves Fort during Chapter 2 or Chapter 3.

We've been testing and experimenting with the new GaneshaDX level editor and there will be plenty more custom maps after this.

I'll eventually come back and finish up the texturing and lighting on these, but that might be a while!

Finished the Graveyard of Airships tonight! Gotta finalize testing and I'll release it. 1st pass of the alternate version of every FFT story map is done!!!

I've finalized the playable first pass versions of all Chapter 4 maps through Underground Cemetary. We're over the halfway point for Chapter 4 and so close to having every story map have a playable alternate version!

Had a lovely co-stream with Caazan (Twitch Channel) and found some issues with the Chapter 3 maps.

Attached is a .zip file with the fixed maps. I'll update the main post files at a later time. The current ones all are playable, just have some graphics errors here and there.

All Chapter 3 map edits have been released!

Be warned there is currently an issue with the Riovanes Gate map where when the event at the end plays the geometry breaks. Nothing game breaking, but I am aware of the issue

Please playtest them and let me know if you're streaming them. Onto Chapter 4 after this, which is almost as many maps as what I've already done... Almost there

So edits to all Chapter 3 maps are done, just need to test them and then I'll release them!

Damn, we've made so much progress in the last week and a half I'm struggling to finalize everything and post here. We're all the way through Yuguo Woods in Chapter 3. Just the Riovanes maps left and it'll be done so I won't be releasing anything until it's done.

In the meantime, here's a preview of Yuguo we finished last night:

21 maps... The ppf and the individual files have been added to the original post. Please play test the heck out of them and let me know if you're streaming so I can come see!

Gonna be taking a break to create my first custom map, but then we'll get back at this thing! See you next time!

Definitely keeping on pace via stream, but haven't had the ability to update this post. We are now through Barius Valley (though Agrias does gain fly for a bit during the event!). Only 3 maps left for Chapter 2 and we're doing the Execution Site tonight on stream!

Instructions:

  • Extract the files in the MAP folder from a FFT ISO using CDMage or another program
  • Extract the attached Executable to the same place you extracted the MAP files
  • Open Command prompt
  • Change directory to that file location
  • type in the following (replace the NNN with the map number you want to export): fft_map_to_obj MAPNNN
  • A number of files will generate in the file path
  • The .obj files should be able to be imported into any modern 3D Software package

After over 3 extra hours of work, Zirekile is fixed and Zaland is playable too! Check the main post for the .zip of all the individual maps if you want to give them a try yourself. I'll be streaming changes to Barius Hill tonight. Feel free to drop suggestions here or on the FFH discord #map-editing channel

Sorry for the delay in updates, been falling behind on outside of stream tasks. I had an issue where I edited Zirekile Falls, but did it on the wrong state so it does not load when the story battle occurs. I'm gonna have to work on fixing that, but here is a preview in the meantime:
