Vanilla?

Im new here, and i love this fourm, i didnt know other people still played fft, and i thought i was weird for still playing and gamesharking on it. There are a lot of neat patches here, and im playing with the patch creater and 1.3, but i have one quick question.

What is this vanilla patch everyone keeps talking about, i cant seem to find any information about it.
