I love playing TLW but I have to admit it's gotten easy for me, as a vet of the game. I really wanted to try the Ashley character but can't find the details of the job and skills. I don't mind creating and editing Ashley in myself into one of the difficulty patches using the patcher and tactext, but I don't know the "recipe" to create him.

Specifically, I want to use the Emergence hack or Kind of hack for the PSP version to replace Luso with Ashley.

I haven't been here in a long long time, LOL. Used to spend all my time here when I was working on my Dante sprite 24/7 :P

Decided to visit since I've seen a lot of completed patches, and FFT+ looks like the best one to try out for a long-time FFT player raring for a new experience. I would love, however, to also use the new custom sprites in the site I have seen, I'm wondering if anyone can help because I am experiencing difficulty with applying the custom sprites on FFT+ patched, basically ShiShi won't open.

A quick search led to a solution by padding the ISO with 00 on a hex editor (as said by Xifanie), could anyone care to give a better detailed method to do this? :) I know my way around a hex editor, I just need a more detailed set of guidelines so I can open the patched ISO error-free on Shishi. Thanks!

Spriting / Amici's sprites
October 27, 2010, 10:58:08 am
Now I know the motto on this forum is do it yourself, and believe me when I say my Photoshop skills are more than apt for copying and pasting Ramza's head on the custom Balbanes sprite on this site. I've hit a snag though, I can never fix the palette. Can anyone fix the palette for me on the BMP file? I can figure out how to use those palette programs to save my life, so far I've been able to replace 4 poses but still unsure to push thru since I dunno if I can even use it in the end. Any tips on how to go about it?

Finished sprites (as of 09/09/2015)

PSX FFT Hacking / Riskbreaker Job
October 19, 2010, 02:40:37 pm
I am aware of an old topic regarding this: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1181&start=40

Since it's been almost two years, I was wondering if there has been any progress to making Break Arts skills work, i.e., require a specific skill to use a specific item class. Or maybe anyone has done a reasonable Riskbreaker Job class since the Ashley sprite has been here for a long time too :D Maybe anyone can point me to a tutorial or patch download to where I can find one? Thanks!

Help! / Where to find version 478 of FFTactext?
September 25, 2010, 12:23:02 pm
Everyone who's in the know seems to have this, and yet I cannot find it in the forums. It's almost mythical how everyone seems to tell people to use this version when normal people like us cannot find it...

I found a version made by formerdeathcorps here: http://www.ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtop ... =23&t=5025
However, I cannot get to to work, as I am experiencing the same error as Ion did in that same thread. Unfortunately, FDC forgot to answer his query regarding an even more mythical .NET framework 4.5.

Can anyone help? I have a lot of ideas that I would like to put in my own mod of FFT, but unfortunately it has been a frustrating experience so far as I am mired in technicalities. ACtually, what's more frustrating is that some people actually have the solution to the problem but are either hiding it, or not explaining too well...

I'd highly appreciate any help. Thanks!

I'm having a problem with trying to edit text with my patched ISO. So basically, here's what I did:

1. Get my clean ISO (BIN/CUE format)
2. Download this patch: FFT:1.3Completeeasytype from this forum
3. Open the ISO using the 457 FFTactext.
4. Edit job names, skillset names, and their corresponding descriptions in Quicktext mode. (I wanted to rename Ch4 Ramza to Knight Gallant, or Heretic if the former is too long).

Basically, the problem is I always get an error, something to do with DTE and WLDHELP.LZW. It patches smoothly for the first files, then seemingly hangs on WLDHELP.LZW, before failing with "DTE for WLDHELP.LZW failed. The ISO has not been modified."

It's been a very frustrating past few hours for me and I can't get it to work. Is there a solution to this or I'm screwed? I've done extensive searching in the forums and can't seem to find a solution...I found in one of the threads here (I forgot where) that editing for text seems to work for an 'unreleased' version of TacText. Where do you suppose I can get that? Or maybe is there a way to patch 1.3easytype first, then patch a Tactext (.ffttext) file in?

Any help would be appreciated =) Thanks!

My master plan is actually to play 1.3easy type with FFT:C, then edit Ramza's Ch4 job so he'll have additional skills, possible Zalbag's skills, so he'll be a bit more comparable to the later characters (would also be using a custom sprite).
