There's a discrepancy in calendar dates on what's displayed on the world map vs what date is shown on the memory card file (different values based on fresh boot vs reload.) IE - World map shows Gemini 26, fresh boot shows Gemini A7 and the reload shows Gemini 11.
Ability description for Haste has information on Flare. Flare is fine, so seems like a duplicative entry

I did the first randeveous. completed it with no deaths and nobody down at the end of the battle. faith was 70 brave was 53. unit was not on my team and not on my bench after i got back to game

These sounds like emulator issues
I'm getting an issue with the event in Dorter at Chapter 4, once the ambush start, Ramza and the thief are looking at each other and nothing else is happening. This is after Ramza says his line about first in a trap he crosses his arm and then nothing else happens but the music is continuing like nothing wrong is going on.
I'm using Duckstation for the emulator.

Thanks for the report. It helped confirm that this wasn't just some one-off weird save file issue. I did some digging, and this is is likely an issue because your Ramza has a name that is less than five letters long.
When the dialogue boxes auto-close, it's after waiting for a space bar to be printed, giving players time to actually finish reading the dialogue. However, printing it makes an audible text printing sound as it closes. I tried to get clever and wait for the dialogue to ALMOST finish printing, then mute the text printing sound.
So I put a check on the variable that reports how many letters have been printed, and waits for it to reach the very end of the dialogue.
Then I tested it... with Ramza named Ramza. 45 letters of dialogue.
If Ramza's name is four letters long, the game sees 44 letters printed. And then it just keeps waiting.
The best short term fix I can think of, if you don't know how to edit/replace events with the Resources build, would be to use a save file editor (or maybe some kind of gameshark code?) to change Ramza's name for this one battle.
If you're comfortable with uploading your memory card file and can mention which slot your Balthier save is, I can also just toss in some half-spaces and send it back - it'll look normal in most cases, except maybe when a character actually says Ramza's name out loud.
I'm not sure if this has been reported yet for Lion War hack but when you bench characters (very cool feature btw) or monsters that are in the main party menu screen it changes their names back to their original whatever it was when you un=bench them. This is fine for monsters but characters that you acquired and named in the soldier barracks are permanently affected by this. It'd be cool to have a feature where you could just rename these characters??? I'm sure this Could be a problem for unique npcs if this were implemented as cutscene scripts are already designated a finite amount of space from what I understand.
I have an idea. It's probably logistically impossible to implement but a headquarters function where you can store monsters, rename non-unique characters, storing equipment or simply trading stuff out as needed. Lol I don't have any idea how this could be remotely feasible but damn it'd be cool.
This wont be implimented. The names is a limitation of the bench hack and not related to TLW
I'm pretty sure there's an ASM hack that allows you to rename your human units at the Soldier Office anyway.

You'll have to forgive me as I have no idea what that means. Is ASM a means to implement piecemeal hacks without having to start over from scratch? I am noob lol but I'd like to learn more. You guys are clearly wizards at understanding and manipulating the systems behind what makes Final Fantasy Tactics run.

Run fftorgasm and search for the name of the asm hack at the top. 'rename' will bring back the specific hack. Toggle on then apply on top of your patched file
Freezes on the black screen after the scene of Delita killing Chancelor Glevanne. Tried it a few times and same issue occurs.

yeaaaaah duckstation does NOT like that segment. If you're playing the game without any other mods/hacks, you can mash x/o while the screen is black. you'll eventually get through it

Gotta hop over to Duckstation. Wasn't even aware of it. Thanks! I tried again on a different emu and it crashed again. To Nyzer's point I've added in the WotL movies (which only worked on the intro anyway) so that could also be causing the issue.

The movies would have no effect. When i do bugtesting I use them as well.
Thief's Reaction ability "Sticky Fingers" has the wrong description. Says "Evade non-ranged physical attacks." Perhaps this is the description for Vanish? I did I cursory search on here, from what I can tell this isn't a Wotl change? Apologies if I'm wrong, old PSX player playing through TLWotl blind.
Typo - Rumor - A Turning Point:
Displayed text is "Duke arg's forces" rather than "Duke Larg's forces.
Is it possible to add in "The War of the Lions" to the text to be more in keeping with the PSP terminology?

Also, no, absolutely not. If I wanted it to be called War of the Lions, that is what I would have called it. War of the Lions has the absolute most dogshit translation of any game I've ever played. So the mod gets a dumb name to go with a dumb translation.

But, yeah, the name isn't changing. There're already more than enough people confusing TLW with WotL, and naming a PSX mod after the PSP game's subtitle would only make it so, so much worse.
We all vouched for a silly name because, as silly as it is, it does perfectly sum up what this project is. TLW with the script of WotL.
Also, it genuinely makes me chuckle.

Unsure if this is common but when I patch my FFT to the newest DL of the Lion War, I cannot use my controller.
I am using Duckstation with a PS5 controller connected to my PC vis USB.
Before I patch FFT, controller works fine but afterwards, no dice.
Any ideas?

I had this same issue with Duckstation and was able to fix by going into the controller settings and changing to a digital controller. What's funny is this same issue can occur with older PSX games on physical hardware when Analog is turned on while using a Dualshock controller.
Anyways, hope that helps and I love playing this mod so much appreciation to the team for adding the WOTL translation.

Description window for the Mythril Knife is messed up.
The animated page-turn symbol in the description window for the Leather Cap is on top of some text. Haven't tested with other items, and don't remember if the original is like that too.

EDIT: The animated page-turn symbol "issue" is present in several other item descriptions, and has to do with the window width (specifically, if the description text is as wide or less than the job list at the bottom). This one's not a big deal, obviously, but in case one of the authors is anal about this kind of stuff and just missed it, it's a thing.

Hello, i been away for a wile but recently found in youtube someone telling how great the lion war mod for the PX1 was, so had to try it. I download the lion war of the lions and start playing it and its been great so far, i was a bit confused at first with the guest not being able to be interact in the party screen but it's okay.
I have a question, Are there no humans in the random battles? i started chapter two and haven't found one human in the world map random battle so far. Is this a bug or a feature? I mean i know you guys want to make the game more like the PSP versions, and i guess hinder the lot you can get from enemies on the gear section, but it's just strange and uncomfortable because fallen enemy humans is a great way to learn abilities from their crystals making the process of learning new abilities really grindy.
Description window for the Spiked Boots is messed up too.

TLW and TLWotL will likely not be getting any more updates, but that doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't report new bugs as you find them! I'd just recommend editing an existing post to consolidate all similar bugs together, like all of the text descriptions for example, into one post. That way you're not spamming new posts. But if you find a completely new type of bug that no one else has mentioned, I'd encourage you to post about it! If nothing else, it will help anyone who makes a mod based off of this (since TLW/TLWotL are also intended to be bases for other mods).

I think this inconsistency is down to two different style choices at play rather than a repeated oversight throughout most of the game (because a different writer was used for the Ashley Riot section). The style that uses spaces after ellipses is generally more correct, even if the other style was present in the PSP original.

I'm on Chapter 3, and have encountered humans in random battles since it began. None prior to Chapter 3, but I wasn't farming, so that may not mean much.

the random job reports (I mean the contest that show up in Garilan, Zalan, Yardow and Goug respectively form time to time) are wrong, most job reports have wrong report associated with them, like wing the magic contest in Garilan magic City get a report about tutoring a child and so on. This bugs are not game braking, but really annoying.
Can't seem to be able to poach Nagrarocks form Porkies, (i kind of like that name better that swine), is that or a really bad case of bad RNG, also Wildbys breed really scarce, not as i remember. Where the chances to get one reduced? just curious.

This mod has been a fantastic experience overall, would be perfect if not for the huge difficulty spike from the Ashley Riot fight and all of the text graphical bugs that have already been reported on (I was coming in hopes of posting them myaelf but they all seem to have been covered already). Thank you for the hard work!

Yeah, it feels like the mod team didn't really look over the job reports at all. Incorrect solutions to jobs and overflowong text are a constant. Also, supee minor and unimportant bug, but when comtinuing a game from the title screen, all the dates have the letter 'A' in the 10s column of the date instead of the correct number. example: Leo A7 instead of Leo 17. They show correctly when saving or loading from in game as opposed to the title screen though. Playing on real hardware through and ODE.

We did, and the error was identified a long time ago. And fixed. I've just not had the time or will to update it until all bug reports are in, because if i do, itll be the last time i ever do.

Well it's cool to hear it is still in the works. I found another bug. On real hardware using a Terraonion M.O.D.E. the Nanai's histories sound novel freezes the game at the point where Tango reaches for his wife's arm. Went through it twice. Flat out freeze requiring a hard reset.
