Using the FFTPatcher programs I created a new class in an unused job slot.  But it seems like I cannot assign it to anyone using Lioneditor.  It only lets you choose from the classes that the game previously uses and none of the empty ones.  Is there any way around this?  Maybe a different program?

I had to go through a little bit more editing in notepad but I tried it again and it works.  The game doesn't freeze on crystals anymore.  Thank you everyone.

Thanks Celdia, that did work and I was able to patch the text.  Unfortunately I changed the crystal text and the game still crashes when a unit turns to crystal.

Thanks.  A lot of the characters are blond so I wanted to make it stand out a bit and I personally just like purple/gray/black as a color scheme.

After taking another look at it I cleaned up the sprite a little bit more.  Also there are 3 pallets to it, the first is a purple suit, the second is a white suit, and the third is a green suit).

I tried it that way but still didn't work.  I even created a brand new ISO from the disk and tried to modify the text without changing anything else but still got the OPEN.LZW failure.

I tried to delete the Japanese characters from the OPEN.LZW file because I saw that in another topic but that just gives me another error ("Object reference not set to the instance of an object").

I am using the tactext from FFTPatcher version 457 because that is supposedly the best one for WotL.

But it looks like I will just have to live with the glitch for now.  If tactext decides to work again I will try out some more stuff to get it completely working.  Thanks for the help though.

I changed the text and when I clicked "Patch ISO"  it ran through and came up with the following message:
"DTE for OPEN.LZW failed.
The ISO has NOT been modified."

Spriting / First Time Creating Original Sprites

This is my first attempts at modifying sprites.

The first is Alexander. It is a pretty simple recolor of Delita (chapter 2/3).  I wanted it to look similar to a Perle Hauberk from FFXI.

Inez is the second.  I started with a base of the New Agrias sprite, added the lower body of a female monk, Meliadoul's lower arms, and Delita's boots.  I'm still trying to decide if I like the upper body the way it is or if I should change it.

Both are type 1 and work fine in battle (no jumping or loose parts).  And as you can see I don't know how to edit portraits so I felt them as is.

Help! / Patched Game Crashing

I patched my FFT: WotL for the PSP and whenever a character turns into a crystal the game crashes and the PSP shuts off (If they change into a chest its fine).  For my patch I changed some skill sets around, added a few custom sprites, and added some custom weapons (but I didn't change the weapon graphics). Has anyone else run into this issue of have any advice on what to check?
