2nd version of Auron is cool. Please plan on finishing this. Also it is hard to believe anyone could fuck it up as much as that japanese version.

did you see their barret portrait? horrible and it looks like it only used 3 colors.

I expect those kinds of fuck ups on the portraits, because they don't care about matching the art style. The fact that the sprite can look so unlike Auron I didn't even know who it was supposed to be just sickens me. I could do better from scratch, and I'm not that good at this.

Yea. I agreed with darthpaul. If it wasn't the red shirt, I wouldn't know that it was Auron =.=
Also, the hair is so messy and out of shape, the left arm (sprite's left) is too mascular, and there's a white thingy which I was scratching my head off wondering what the fuck is that, until I went and look for pictures and then I realised it is suppose to be a bottle or something around his waist...
And I was also wondering why the hell his arm so mascular and out of shape until I found the reason why.

First version, with his shirt?
Second version, wear half of his shirt?

I prefer the half shirt version because it is a battle sprite and you never see him fight with that sleeve on.

Also the gourd is rather important in the FFX cutscenes in that he is regularly seen drinking from it. Even though the character is not complete without it in fan art for an FFT sprite it is unnecessary and just gets in the way.


EDIT: in my opinion the sunglasses are optional, though I prefer version 2.

Your naming conventions are confusing with all your different versions. But I like the first version of the glasses and the third version of the sprite, with the one bare arm.

I prefer the second version glasses personally. They look more 'realistic' to me. I'm torn on the half shirt/full shirt though. I think I might like the full shirt more.

Though to elaborate, the jug of rice wine helps complete his typical ronin image.  (Yes, despite being awesome, he is somewhat of a stereotype.)  I personally think the sprite could use the jug.  (Maybe even have drinking from it being his casting animation.)

Hmm...jug....so without it, the sprite is not completely Auron.
I'll try my best to fit it in nicely ^^
For now, I'll need to see which is favourable the most ^^
