My name is Pico Mundo, or PM, if you'd rather address me as such. I'm relatively new to the world of hacking, but I would enjoy getting involved, as I love Final Fantasy Tactics with a passion. Really, tactical games in general are pretty cool -- has anyone ever played Disgaea?

 :more:

Lol, that's cute.

Thank you for the welcome. And yes, those animations are quite nice. Were they made by people on this website?

To tell the truth...I truly don't know
Anyway, prepare yourself, because you posted an "Intro topic" and this kind of things is considered a bad thing around here...

Welcome to FFH.

I have Disgaea 3 on PS3. I'd pick up Dark Hero Days for PSP but it's not out here.

I have never played 2 or 3. Disgaea: HoD characters are just too awesome for me to abandon ^_^.

And, Dome, what do you mean when you say intro topics are "bad"? I hope I don't upset anyone on my first real visit...

The section for the intro topic got deleted long ago...and now the intro topics are considered spam-like post

Oh... I apologize, then. I really hope I don't make anyone angry. I just thought introducing myself would help me meet the other memers of this website.

Disgaea 1 has the best story.  From what I read of Disgaea 3, it has the best gameplay.  There seems to be an inverse relation between the two it seems.  Disgaea 2 is somewhere in the middle, and it's new remake added a lot of stuff.

I played Disgaea 1 and 2.

I'd have to say both are pretty good. You'll like the second game. *Minor spoilers* Someone from the first game joins your party.
So ur wid ur rival adn u were fighting den wen he beat u ur holy stone glowed and spoke, it told u "Your soul will unite with my flesh" den u tell ur rival dat but ur rival said "No, that's just an ordinary rock"
THEN WHO WAS STONE?

Well, you get points for also actively asking a general question inside of going "Hi I'm Pico and I like FFT, also I want to give Ramza Holy Swordskills."

That said, WELCOME TO FFH, WHERE ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

And, yes, I've played Disgaea.  Good for... two playthroughs or so, because after that point it's nothing but Item World grinding, and the game becomes less an SRPG and more a puzzle game with colored blocks.

Still, chapter 6 is the single best chapter/section/area of any game ever.  And I say that quantitatively.  Best.  Ever.  It's the one with the the entire map full of enemies, the demon whose love gets divided 10 ways, the unsure knight, the power rangers rip off (BLUUUUUUUUE!), and then wrapped up with a mid boss battle :)   Second place is probably something like Kefka's Tower.
Just another rebel plotting rebellion.

I've played (and own) a lot of nippon-ichi games, but I've only ever completed Makai Kingdom. I made some progress in Soul Nomad as well, because I liked the Ogre Battle style battle system, but it's really too easy to breeze through the story with a single overpowered unit, so I lost interest. I will say that Disgaia and it's sister games have some really great storylines and characters (Prier from La Pucelle is probablly my favorite), though I prefer the gameplay of games like FFT, Tactics Ogre, and Front Mission.
"Dave?  Are you there?"
"Yeah.  I can't get you through the cell now."
"You have to talk through the bratwurst from now on. I'm sorry. I didn't know it would do that."

Played Disgaea 2. It was a lot of fun, but I only played it once. You could be like lvl9999 or something... and Item World a'n' stuff... uuuungh I didn't quite like that; but as the rest of the game it was great. The loli, spear-wielding devil is awesome :D

Yes, Disgaea games (and Nippon Ichi games in general, it seems) are best known for their characters and their storylines. I will admit the level-grinding does get old after awhile, and I don't entirely understand the concept behind transmigration.

I hope I don't anger anybody by saying this, but am I the only one who sort of wishes for a RamzaxAgrias otp?

Ehehe... It's kind of corny, but those of us who are into fandom shipping use it to describe a couple whom we most see together.

Ramza and Agrias merely work towards the same goal, this is made clearer in War of the Lions, and Ramza has no affection for her, where in War of the Lions he actively tries to hitch Mustadio and Agrias.

I never did bother playing to Kefka's tower, so I don't know about that, but I found that chapter the second best section of any game ever.  I found the Red Moon chapter of the same game the best.  No other game has ever choked me up as badly as that chapter of Disgaea.

In third for me would have to be the short time at the beginning of the game in Lunar 2 where you have Lucia in your party at full power.  It reigns as my favorite game as most of it is awesome anyways, but that particular part is rather fun all while getting to see just how insignificant you are (at the time).

I always felt a stronger connection between Ramza and Rapha than with Agrias, but there was never any indication it was more than a friendship.  I don't believe there have been any indications of Ramza having any romantic interests...
