Final Fantasy Hacktics

I guess it's about time that I returned. I don't know why I left, but I'm sure there was a reason.

Hello to all the old faces, and a belated welcome to anyone who joined after I went AWOL.

I'm back in business, and will spend the next month catching up on what I've missed until my new computer has been built. Then I shal continue to fulfill the only role I ever actually did any good at while here. Play-testing. I guess that sums up this post.

Where do I begin...

I am 11 hours into this game and still wading through the tutorials. The story feels like a rehash of FF3 with new characters and a steampunk decorator.

This is not so much a game as it is some developers magnum opus. I can feel the reluctance to let me have any freedom for fear that I will mess up the masterpeice they are trying to unfold. The battle system is contrived and awkward and the characters...the characters are actually relate-able.

Well fuck they got one thing right so I guess it isn't all bad.

What do you guys think?

Worth $60 bucks? I say no.


EDIT: Music...the music is...not bad, but not good either. So-so.

A bit of explanation here. VGA Cast started as a turn of the year idea that three friends had while really sleepy. We bumbled about for a few months releasing episodes that where not very good. Wee took off for the summer and made video VGA Casts and audio ones for a while perfecting our style and never posting them for the public. A new age has come in VGA Cast when we realized the reason for our name the VGA cable was no longer being used primarily by computer makes. This has lead to episode one of DVI Cast(Digital anime and Videogame Informal Cast). This episode is much better recorded we shrunk the time by about half an hour by goofing off less. Though goofing off is still a mainstay in our style. Go watch episode 1 now.

Now to explain the comic. Since we started I felt we needed more of a wat of getting the news about us out and around than just a weekly podcast. That lead to the creation of this comic. I wanted to do it in a style similar to Penny-Arcade, hence the blog attachment. I have been working on and scanning comic for months now, with about 200 or so so that I can post one daily or at least every other day to keep the entertainment going. I was waiting for a comic idea like this to start us on though. I thought it would be a good start so here we are now. Hope you enjoy any questions or comments are appreciated. EDIT: It should also be known that the one on the left is Koizumi and the one on the right is Okazaki (me).

Also I don't care if you like anime or not, that is not the entire point of these comic and some people enjoy it. Opinions are like butts everyone has one, but some are not nice to flash around.

Haven't done this in a while, but thanks for the hat. It fits well.

Korso and I are going to start me up on a high exercise/good diet lifestyle in the hopes of my long term health.

After a visit to the doctor the other day I was told my health now was phenomenal but in coming years if I don't lead a better lifestyle I will most definitely have problems.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to cast magic? The simple ability to scorch a landscape
or zap an insect. Freezing all those who opposed you, and then quaking the land until they shattered. How
about a simpler approach to your abilities? Would you stop time? Distort space? If I had my choice I
would take the simple telekentic powers of the prophets. Then again they never seem happy with their lives,
so I shall assume it's torturous. Maybe the powers of the necroshades, who have power to make the dead their
minions. Then again I hate being around decay so this could be a problem.

Social experiment. What would people do if granted super human powers? Would they
change as a person? Would they be predesposed to moral "good" or "evil"? How would they cope? Would
they keep it a secret? These are just some of the tirade of questions that flood the brain. The simple
"what ifs" are enough to inundate you with a plethora of thinking potential, and make you wonder of the outcomes.

When thinking about this you may tend to be sure that you've figured out the equation. The quotient though
not always what it appears, and the problem may have variables you don't want to see. Judgment is often clouded by preconception, and bias.
The problem with making the decision before the fact is that circumstances change all the time. Vengeance could also make your judgment
shaky, or your morals may not allow you to do your best. I like to assume that I would be able to think quikly when it happened.
This may just be procrastination though. Not wanting to make a decision till the last minute.

Have you ever noticed that these powers, to those who have them, are just like snapping to you and me?
What do we use our latent abilities for? The answer is rather simple really, bettering our lives and showing off.
So I think someone with super strengh would work in heavy lifting. A pyrokinetik would be a blacksmith, a time bender would be a thief.
So on and so forth normal people would just make their own life easier.

I am a pesimist, and this may just be me not trusting human emotion. The individuals in this tale intrigue me.
What are their motives, and why do they continue. It is obvious they are not moral heroes of never ending justice.
Would a look into their heads find useful info or something about them that would better be left a secret. I am a little
over zealous for the answer. I can also assume my thirst for knowledge will lead to a snag. Though if anything I will die the way I want.
If everything goes as planned, I will gain the knowledge I desire and see my friends honored as heroes.

North Korea needs to realize that they are not a mojor power in the world and that if it comes down to it I'm sure the U.S. and Russia have enough firepower to make it look like North Korea never existed.

Honestly if they think it is that worthwhile to threaten us let's turn their country into a man made sea.

Well I have been think8ing on what Voldemort has said to me over the past couple of weeks, and have come to a conclusion. It is very nice:

Built in wifi, 1.3 megapixel camera, 1 gig of ram.

Tis very nice, only has 15 gigs of HD mem though which isn't so bad depending on ow you plan to use it.

I shall be using it to further my hacking skills and entertaining myself on outings with people I don't like.
