im considering using the Ra,Ga,Ja for all the spells with more than one level as thats a trademark FF thing now... If you think i should stick with 2,3,4 lemme know here guys.

I personally prefer the numbers. Maybe you could do a mix of them though?
I like the -ra,-ga,-ja better than the numbers. Numbers were only in other FF games to differentiate which type of magic was more powerful because they didn't have enough space for the text. They ended up running with it until someone decided that they could do a better job.
Besides if someone was really able to cast magic, saying "Fire 4" would sound bad. At least I think so.
The numbers are ridiculous for the reasons stated by Kourama. I can understand people not caring for the -ra, -ga, -ja scheme, but that is what Square has gone with and is what is official. It is my strong opinion that you should go with -ra, -ga, -ja or make up your own scheme.

the -ara, -aga, -aja names would make a nice change so your game is less like vanilla, go with them.
also, i think it has already been suggested somewhere, but Avalanche for Barret's job name would fit well.

Avalanche Member or Leader would fit more though huh? I forget which he is for it but I'd think one of those would be better than just "Avalanche" since that's the name of the Anti-Shin-ra group. Just my thoughts though.
