I think it's close to done. Fixed up some legs...
I tested her for a while using a party of different jobs replaced.
Having trouble with the palette for the portrait, when I put it into Shishi's. So in game all the colors distort. This happened last time too. I just don't have the drive to figure it out again right now, I forgot. Does anyone have a fast method of fixing this?

I was initially looking to the thief for her shoes, (actually never liked the girl thief in this game much, silly doo-rag)then I saw the barely noticeable to me before belt and collar that at least retains the V of the Terra I like from the SNES version! And it turns out the bandana is very useful as a guide for the hair animations. So this one is coming together a lot easier. :P
Cheetah: I had that problem at first with Photoshop. A random color or five can just appear in seemingly random spots on the empty slots of the color table. It's preventable but you have to be vigilant. I found saving and loading palettes for any window you plan on working in seems to work. You have to re-save anything from Photoshop in Gale or Palette Editor before Shishi's 'll accept also but I know all the short-cuts etc.in Photoshop, so it's worth dealing with these idiosyncrasies.

O! I think the lightest and darkest shades on the cloak are probably just too high contrast. I bet making the the lightest color a few shades darker would be it. I'm no expert

Very kind! Thanks for the insights folks.
Cheetah: I was off to a bad start with the chaos of the palette only out of lack of proper planning but last night I just re-did  the whole thing I think I'm getting the hang of it.I'll use exact color from anther sprit, at least for the skin. I may just need to surround myself with reference to make sure I don't stray too much. I do the most of it in Photoshop with a BMP then I go to Graphics Gale & The great and late Palette Editor. But posts are pngs of screen shots (prt scr) at whatever size... so 100% & 300% from now on.

Kyousukeee: Thanks for taking the time to do that! | like the dancer's gloves a lot more but I thought Zack Fair'd be good for arms; for the shoulder pads. Wow Terra's legs got chunky hmmm I'll have to look into that! ....This is good help.

Lydyn: Good eye! I noticed the shoulder was off for sure but not the other things last night but I was so tired and just posted it anyway for the sake of information gathering I suppose.

And Kagebunji: Thanks for being so quick to reply ,through this, it has helped quite a bit.

Well, let's see what happens tonight

I'd advise putting another color on the cape if you can afford to. It's too stark it looks like he has a flat panel stuffed under his cape.

Did I ruin your post Smash? Sorry man (or girl)! I didn't want to start my own thread because I didn't feel it was necessary. I am new so forgive me. But Smash if you'd like to help me  I'd be honored. Even if I made a perfect sprite at this point I believe they'd bitch. So even if  I were capable would it matter?

I know! I will once I finish... But perhaps this will work as Smash started this thread. I'd be glad to see the portrait done by someone else. This is your thread.

i used female monk for the body and the male monk's arms.
Say, anyone gotta very particular problem with this? Point it out; it would be helpful. I'd like to finish it tonight so I can move on. I'll redo the portrait again but what of the sprite?
I think the hair looks good I've tested it thoroughly it seems to work fine.

What about the back 3/4 view? do you think her face looks to wide?
I'd like some answers by the time I get back from this social event later tonight dammit!

ALMOST  DONE
TO DO:
Must fix colors(almost just right but changes in play), fix animation of hair(close but still looks like a fish would flop; moves to fast)Fix 1 pose, Standing side view looks weird. Final touch ups of fighting arms still needed too.

The Rules!  I got exited not realizing the undertaking involved with spriting. You guys are strict and I think that's respectable. Ego; perhaps, thinking I could execute a sprite nonchalantly. I'm  new to spriting though and thanks to members like Kagebunji & Kyosoukee I'm able to be molded much faster I hope. Good rules. Thanks for the tips! Rule 3 esp. I think some colors got replaced in the actual game when I was testing the green haired version at least one of the greens turned to a reddish brown. I'll have to tinker around. I did use a lot of references though The female and male monks mostly.

I know! I thought there was something scary about that last one!
Yes; The green one's ear's messed up. But other than that I'm content.
