Title: Dark Orbonne Monastery, powered by the GoldScript Engine
Post by: gsengine on November 01, 2014, 06:29:53 pm
Hi all!

My name is Rohan and I'm the lead developer and creator of the GoldScript Engine, an RPG engine which features combat similar to Final Fantasy Tactics.

As a tech demo for Halloween, we've recreated Orbonne Monastery in our engine. I thought you guys might like it so I'm sharing it here

If you enjoy this please check out our blog; http://projectgoldscript.com and read more about the video here http://www.projectgoldscript.com/development/dark-orbonne-monastery/

Thanks!

Looks awesome! I'd love to see a Halloweeny FFT, but of course with a new story to match the dark and creepy places.

Now that's an awesome Halloween gift.

The tree's a nice addition! Love the mist and dynamic lighting, too. Thanks for sharing!

Hey thanks for your comments! If you like what you see, I'd really appreciate it if you could share this with other fans of the series.

Our game has not been revealed yet, but if you like the darker side of things, it will definitely be up your alley.

I'm not sure how much more FFT emulating I'll be doing, as I'm not trying to recreate FFT, rather create my own game engine/series (albeit inspired by one of my all time favourite games).

I'll definitely post more here when there is more to share.

Thanks a lot! I'll definitely be posting updates ITT in the future ;)

One thing I am looking for is - artists. I am in talks with some people, but the more potential contacts I have, the better. If you're interested and have a portfolio to share please don't hesitate to drop me a line via the contact page on the website http://projectgoldscript.com/contact

As a little treat, here's a little something I mocked up

Sadly, artists are something we're currently lacking, as well. All of our talented artists have either been abducted by aliens, lost in drug-fueled purple haze, or enslaved by salt miners. The resource we once had in greatest abundance is now our scarcest.
