This is my list of equipment mods.  I need help balancing the armors.

In this patch, there are three types of armors:
Heavy
Cloth
Mage

Armors provide elemental weaknesses and varying levels of resistances, starting/always/immune statuses, HP, MP and stat bonsues.  There are no longer all-status immune ribbons.  Each piece of armor has certain bonuses and penalties, but there is no way to gain immunity to all elements or all statuses, nor any way to get all positive status effects.  I did this because I was pissed off at the semi-random enemy equips, so I decided I needed to make a patch where all equipment is useful in some way but no peice of equipment makes any other obsolete (with exceptions made for shields and mantles, which are triple tiered).

The only problem?  I ran out of ideas, and organizing it is driving me nuts.

The first thing I need your help with is dividing Armor status effects into Head Only, Body Only, and Both.

For accessories, when I say it provides at least: ?? and then I have the item showing another bonus, what I mean is that every accessory of that type proved at least those bonuses, and the specific accessories listes provide the additional bonus listed next to it.


RANDOM IDEAS

-Weapon Randomly casts Wish or uses formula 3C.

-Furious Angel -> Uses Formula 43 Dmg_(CasMaxHP-CasCurHP)NS -> A sword inhabited by a fallen angel.  It's rage increases with it's holder's health fails.
 -Tonberry Knife

-Smirking Demon -> Uses Formula 45 Dmg_(TarMaxHP-TarCurHP)NS -> A sword with an image of a smiling imp on it's hilt.  It's sharpness increases as the enemies' health decreases.
 -The Predator -> A weapon made from the corpse of a strange beast.  







-Available Item Attributes: 79

NOTE:  Turn Unused abilites into unique weapon-specific ablilities with weird formulae.


-The point of this equipment redo is to change the enemies random equipment choices from a liability to an advantage.  If the player isn't properly equipped to fight a variety of scenarios, then s/he could be confronted by an unkillable enemy.
-This will also make break and steal much more useful.

In Vanilla, there are a total of 64 pieces of head and body armor.
So I should allow 10 of each:

And then I'll have 4 left over to redistribute.
There's a problem with that.  If I make every Item unique, I won't have anywhere near enough Item Attributes.

-There don't need to be that many Wakizashi, considering Ninja's can use three different classes of weapons...
-But then again, Samurai will be allowed to equip wakizashi, so maybe there are enough of them...

Well, one of the goals I had was to create a true distinction between different classes of armor. In my own patch I've been working with, I did this via "elemental" affinities and meaningful weight classes. Here, I chose to do this by creating a scale that balanced each armor type againt the two needs of jobs that favor that kind of armor. For armor and clothing, this was easy, as both pa-based and speed based jobs have similar needs (power, mobility and hp). The mage armor was a little harder, but I eventually decided to split it between the two main effects of magic, damage and status. Status mages need mp more then ma, and pa more than hp(since they can use status to mitigate damage). Damage mages are the opposite, needing ma more than mp, and hp more than pa
