News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

Her midsection is extremely skinny. How do even her organs fit in there? Or if it's a robot, where are all of her components supposed to fit, and why are there boobs/hair on a robot? The character design is very odd.

Anyway after researching, looks like a pretty old game, maybe I might check it out.

PSX FFT Hacking / Re: Charge skill with targeting?
November 18, 2014, 07:19:39 pm
Hoping this isn't considered necro-posting, but I've been thinking about this subject for a while and this seemed like a relevant thread to post this idea.

I have an idea that, speaking as a modding layman, I believe would simplify this matter. Why not remove ALL the Charge+# skills and replace it with a single "accumulate" type ability like the squire has? I mean, they both have the similar function to increase power.

Why not make a custom accumulate skill for the archer? You could make it so that the power bonus you get from accumulating is permanent for however long you stay on your current square, simulating a sense of having heightened senses by standing still. This would allow you to "accumulate" up to a maximum amount that resembles the power of a charge+20, while being able to target anything in weapon-range using the Attack command. Moving off the square, being knocked off the square, receiving some status effects like sleep, or dying would remove the power bonus.

I think this would allow targeting with the charge skill. It wouldn't really be an attack, just a self-targeted power increase that disappears the moment you move or get knocked around with throw stone/dash. Then, when an enemy gets in weapon-range, you can use that accumulated focus for permanently stronger Attack commands (because you only lose focus if you move).

Maybe this would also free up a few ability spaces.

EDIT: I should say I don't know if any of that is possible. I really don't know much about modding, but I think it SOUNDS simpler that trying to have abilities that smartly target enemies (well, besides the existing smart-targeting abilities like magic, but those are different because they aren't confined to weapon-range)

The Lounge / Re: How to save money
November 14, 2014, 10:13:58 pm
I hope this is relevant to the topic. Here are a couple of ideas:

1. Install a bidet. Have a cleaner behind as a result and buy/waste less toilet paper. Good for septic tank?
2. Install solar panels if in sunny climate. Hopefully would pay off within a few years and increase energy independence.
3. Wear warmer clothing instead of cranking the heat up to max. Take off clothing instead of cranking up the AC.
4. Turn the shower off when you are applying body soap and shampoo. Resume water only to rinse off. No Meditating!
5. If allowed, start a compost pile for all your biodegradable waste, like banana peels. Use that compost later for gardening. Use less trash bags.
6. Don't water your lawn to make it look greener.
7. In sunny weather you can hang your clothes out to dry instead of using the dryer.
8. Drop useless gym memberships and go jogging in the fresh outdoors (if you don't live in a polluted city). As a bonus you don't have to be in a workout room smelling other people's post-workout stench.
9. Try to drop drug habits (including alcohol and smoking). It costs to buy and it costs your health long-term. Or use sparingly.
10. Don't speed or be in a rush. It barely saves time and increases risk of accidents, which are costly.
11. If you care what people think about you/your appearance, you might be more likely to be influenced into making rash purchases or costly decisions. Expensive brand items are often available from cheaper brands too, or have the same function/purpose.

RPing? I was just mentioning what I did with Boco and co. in my first playthrough.

As for drugs, all I got are some religious pamphlets.

I hate to admit it, but I was forced to do the same thing. Good thing about modding though is that you can neuter Boco so that he doesn't fill your party with chocobos when you really need the space.

The Lion War / Re: FFT - The Lion War

Oh god my eyes are burning. Sorry, I didn't get to everything, these are just a few of the errors I came across.

I hope any of it helps, maybe you will agree with some of the changes I'm suggesting.

I'm uploading a text file with the locations of all my changes and the entry numbers in which you can find the specific errors I have located, and my suggested change. Many of my changes are probably subjective.......like changing the Cleric's Deathspell 2 ability to Esuna 2 to better match the ability's effects, or changing "Platina" to "Platinum" to improve consistency. I tried to keep it as vanilla as possible.

I skipped over Item Descriptions and Ability Descriptions for now, maybe I'll get back to those some other time. Also, I'm not sure what the tolerance is for adding more characters. The last time I tried adding much more text, many of the times that I pressed "select" in game to get a description, the text box would glitch out and not appear for me and cause instability. The reason I say this is some of my changes involve fully spelling out an ability's name where it has been shortened. Some, I left alone like the Hell Knight's abilities even though they look atrocious.

Thanks for the info! I'll go into Tactext and hunt down all the errors I can, and maybe I can make a thread to document the knowledge so it can be used in this project and others. And thank you for fixing the DEB bug!

I saw the cutscenes, they were done amazingly well. The decision to scrap Luso for Ashley is perfect, if only because I never liked Luso's character design.

I'd like to chime in that this is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Kudos (kupos) on all the hard work put into this.

One question, if nobody minds: is this patch mainly for extra content, or will it fix weird bugs like the "Defeat Dycedarg's Elder Brother" battle condition (was going through the tutorial but I don't have photoshop), and various text bugs such as "Rich" or "Mogri" (Lich and Moogle)? I also saw many errors in the ability quotes.

I wouldn't mind going through tactext and either fixing those errors or tracking them down for others to fix, if anybody wants me to. I'd also do anything else, but my knowledge is very limited.

This is not the RP forum Kaijyuu :/

We're here to greet people, with drugs.

Oooo! I'll take some Skooma, please. Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone!

Thanks Elric and everyone involved for this tutorial. I finished section 1! Ramza walked in place on a weird chessboard map I've never even seen before! Then it went to the battle outside the church.

I'm looking forward to delving even deeper into this interesting subject.

New Project Ideas / Re: Patch Ideas Proposal Thread
November 14, 2014, 12:09:36 pm
I'm posting some ideas that others could pick up on in their own projects.

Does anyone else get annoyed that the Round Shield isn't round? Or that the Gold Helmet has 10 HP less than the Gold Armor (same for Bronze Helmet and Armor)? Or that the Platinum Shield, Helmet, and Armor are all different color metals? Why is there an Iron Helmet and no Iron Armor or Shield?

Also, why is a Sorcerer's skillset named All Magic when it could be named Sorcery instead? Similarly, the Geomancer's Elemental could be renamed Geomancy. Some other ideas include renaming Wiegraf's White Knight class to Paladin, renaming Divine Knight to Templar, renaming Temple Knight to Spellsword, etc. There are too many A-Knight, B-Knight, C-Knight classes, and it makes things confusing, especially when you throw in Heaven and Hell Knights (which are actually mages).

I'm Boco, and I'd like to start by saying that it is a pleasure to become a part of this community.

I've been lurking the past couple of months, and from what I've seen, this looks like a very tight-knit community.

I'm very impressed by all of the talent I've seen on this forum. Sadly, I have none to contribute myself, and the process of learning even the simple modding techniques is beyond daunting for me. I'm looking forward to trying, anyway.

It's a pleasure to meet all of you, and I look forward to my time here.
