The status displays correctly, in the sense the palette darkens and the little oil symbol appears over the characters' heads ; but the status itself doesn't do anything. If a fire-elemental attack is dealt to an Oil'd character, the damage won't be greater than normal.

I notice you chose Oil as an ability. So, did you manage to fix the bug involving Oil ? This status effect doesn't do a thing in the PSX version (I'm not sure if it was fixed on the PSP though, as I never played the game).

Oh !
This hint is already a pretty good help, but if it doesn't bother you, could you use a little of your time to tell me how to realize this deed, Zodiac ?

Yeah, it's weird.

And it's a nice idea to change Balmafula's sprite to Wiegraf's, but if I do that, then I guess Wiegraf will also be the woman sent by the High Priest to kill Delita... =/

I had the idea of allowing an undead Wiegraf to join the party, at Poeskas Lake. The problem is, his sprite doesn't appear correctly, both in the menu and in the formation screens. Actually, the sprite being displayed is Balmafula's.

I have two question : first, is there a way to correctly display Wiegraf's sprite in those screens ? After all, Gafgarion's works great (but I guess Gaffy works, because he was programmed to appear as a guest in the menu) ...

...And if there is no way to display his sprite, here is the second question : would it really bother you to have Balmafula in place of Wiegraf, in the menu, were you to play a hack ? In my opinion, it doesn't feel too good, but hey, you can get used to it. It displays fine in battle, after all.

I also have the problem with Celia's sprite, by the way : it is replaced by Chapter 1 Ramza, but her portrait is still Celia's (and that ain't the case for Wiegraf, as Balmafula replaces both his sprite and portrait).

It really bothers me. I made a lot of changes in this hack of mine, but everything worked perfectly up until now  :?

And in case nothing can be done about it, should I remove those characters completely, or leave them with this annoying (but minor) graphical glitch ?

I'm kinda lost.

By the way, in FFTPatcher, checking the box just below "Load Formation" in the ENTD tab, will activate the Zodiac monster check. In other words, one needs to check it to multiply by 10 the Zodiac's HP (and MP ? I'm not sure) and completely hide its status.
It doesn't seem to work with other characters.

Wow, great testing work ! :D
It looks like Austin might be right : the MP boost could be what the AI's looking for.

It looks like Knights and Lancers are the ones affected, by the way.
They can be equipped with robes, and I've seen another level 20+ Knight equipped with a Mythril Vest (but I concur, that's only in the patch I'm currently working on thanks to your awesome work, as I allowed Knights to wear hats and light armors).

You're wrong. Run some tests if you don't believe me, Zodiac.

Another example I witnessed tonight : a level 25 Lancer with only <Random> in his equipment slots, was outfitted with a Partisan, a Flame Shield, a Platina Helmet, and... ...a Linen Robe
And the Linen Robe is still a level 3 item.

By using "random", I've seen a level 10+ enemy equiped with plain Clothes. So no, it's not "Best Fit" either, as it seems to be randomly generated.
