Hacking/Patching Tools / New Character

So! How's this done? I'm getting Vanya to make me that Lightning sprite for me, but how to I end up creating a new custom class around her and all that?

I was thinking of replacing the Arc Witch and stuff ... would I just go to the ENTD editor and set the Sprite Set to whatever I replaced Lightning with and set the Job as Arc Witch then? So, when she joins, her sprite is there and uses the Arc Witch Job?

How about a new name in, so she's named 'Lightning' and not something random?

I'm starting to notice a lot of the same questions appearing over and over on the forums like, "how do I put ENTD files in," or "how do I do such-and-such with sprites," and so on.

We really should have guides posted somewhere or a FAQ topic or something of that nature so we can direct everyone to it and they can read up on all the answers they want. I'm even willing to make the guides myself if no one else has the time or doesn't know how to make it and all that ...

Does anyone know why some random battles appear more often than others? Take the plains for instance.. the first random battleground you can visit. Why's it that monster random battles occur more often than those with humans in them?

Does anyone know if "Angel of Death" officially appears anywhere in the game? I saw him in one of the events, but it's unmarked and in some random battle with Elmdor and a bunch of random NPCs.

      • Lowered Drain and Demi to around 10-15% of life instead of 25-50%
      • Pray Faith is only targetable to allies as Doubt Faith is only to enemies.
      • Job Levels are easier to obtain
      • Fixed Beowulf's Faith and Innocent to match the Oracle.
      • Switch Drain to Wind & Dark, so Zodiacs are hopefully immune - if not, at least hopefully it'll not work as well.
      • Took out Life Drain.
      • Lich is now Wind & Dark for the same reason Drain & Life Drain are.
      • Lowered the amount of Brave Points Foxbird & Chicken will lower Brave Points
      • Cheer Up now lowers Brave Points instead of raising them
      • Switched Ramza's skillset around a little; gets Ultima in Chapter 2 & 3, and Cheer Up & Scream (doesn't raise Brave anymore) in Chapter 4.
      • Improved the levels of all story battles. Now every story battle the enemies will go up two levels, making them level 99 by the last three final battles (yes, including Altima!).
      • Improved abilities for all story battles. This means running into knights with two swords or ninjas with equip armor and such.
      • All classes benefit from innate Gained EXP-UP
      • Beware the Fovoham Plains!

      Not sure where else this would fit ... I got the text all spiffy-ed up an' stuff, but it's not really clear on how to get the new text file into the SCUS_942.21 so I can finish patching the game with the new descriptions and stuff...

      Can anyone give me some insight to this? Thanks.

      I'm super bad when it comes to graphics besides anything from settings (drawing sunsets, rolling hills, castles, map editing terrian, etc.) and since I'm beginning to go all out here ... at least for myself, I was wondering if anyone can help me come up with some sprites?

      I want a Heavenly Knight generic Sprite to replace the Bard one, and it'll be for males only and a Chaos Knight one to replace the Dancer one for females only.

      PSX FFT Hacking / 'Newbie' Question

      So, I'm completely new at this and just downloaded it a few days ago with the thought of reworking the Mime class (original FFT) into perhaps a Dark or Mystic Knight... or something, since I can't afford the remake right now.

      Anyways, I didn't see any sort of manual or readme at all. Most of it seems... sort of user friendly, though there's quite a bit I don't understand, like some of the "unknown" check boxes and how to rename skill sets, classes, etc. The spirte, I'm not going to mess with .. but the rest, yeah.

      I hate to be so generic, but could someone help? Thanks.
