Title: In-battle Weapon Sprite Finder
Post by: Cherrie on May 07, 2012, 09:32:21 pm
So there's a pretty clear listing of the menu icons for equipment, but as far as I can tell there's nothing for the actual sprites that show up in weapon animations. Until now! This is still a little rough, but I'll explain it as best I can.
This is intended as a guide to recoloring battle weapon sprites to match their menu icons. This list was compiled using the WEP1 sprite sheet from shishis. To the best of my knowledge the first palette line determines the colors of the swing animation. The second and third line mystify me for the most part, I'm not sure what they do but they may be connected to a few anomalies I found while cataloging everything. Now to the meat of the list!
Palette 4 Items Mage Masher Main Gauche Ninja Edge Iron Sword Kiyomori Hunting Bow Windslash Bow Iron Fan Round Shield Venetian Shield
Palette 13 Items Ice Rod Ultimus Bow Dragon Whisker Cypress Rod Ivory Rod
Palette 14 Items Platina Dagger Sasuke Knife Platinum Sword Asura Knife Koutetsu Knife Bizen Boat Battle Axe Oak Staff Wizard Staff Scorpion Tail Romanda Gun Blaze Gun Battle Dict Monster Dict* Javelin Spear P Bag H Bag Platina Shield Crystal Shield Genji Shield
Palette 15 Items Dagger Blind Knife Hidden Knife Ninja Knife Broad Sword Long Sword Ragnarock Kikuichimoji Slasher Rod Rainbow Staff Stone Gun Glacier Gun Bow Gun Ice Bow Mythril Bow Octagon Rod C Bag Buckler Bronze Shield
Palette 16 Items Mythril Knife Short Edge Mythril Sword Sleep Sword Save the Queen Masamune Wizard Rod Flail Night Killer Gastranfitis Lightning Bow Perseus Bow Fairy Harp Mythril Spear Holy Lance* Musk Rod Persia Gold Shield
Replacing the palette will recolor all the items in each list, this also applies to items that have been altered to be other weapon types.
The FS Bag, Monster Dict, and Holy Lance are the only items that come out kind of weird. They seemed to take part of their coloring from a separate palette for reasons I can not fathom. If you find any inconsistencies let me know and I'll fix this up.
