Help! / Sprite Changing For PSP on PPSSPP

So i successfully changed the character sprite with no problem but when i go back into my unit formation and things like that, the images of the sprite go back to their original form. Is there a way to change that? I kinda need a step by step tutorial or link to actually change this.
