Glad to see another face in the maps section! Definitely like the edits you've made so far and hope to see more.
Are you using GDX to make these or another program? If you haven't tried them in game I definitely suggest doing so to make sure they work as expected! If you need help pop into the discord and drop a message in the map editing channel.
My only thing I'd like to make you keep note of is if you plan on people using these I'd suggest making sure that each tile can be fully visible from at least one camera angle. From the ones you've posted I do see issues with line of sight for quite a few, but that isn't something that is unfixable!

Keep at it and I look forward to seeing more maps!  :cool:

Greetings all!

I finally got around to creating a ppf that contains the few 2nd passes I've done on some of the alternate maps! The .ppf is attached to this post and I've also added it to the original post.

With this and Nyzer's event, the alternate map pack should now be fully compatible with TLW 2.0 (I believe it will be natively compatible with 2.03 once that is released as it will contain Nyzer's event modifications)

Let me know if you find anything weird if you decide to try it!

Update: It looks like the previous ppf file was ruining the ability to complete battles in TLW. I have uploaded a new one that should fix this concern! Please redownload.

It has been a bit, but I have returned with a shiny new map. I started this one back in February, but got a bit discouraged. I came back to it with fresh eyes and was able to complete it! It is mostly setup around the fight I have planned for my mod, but could work quite well otherwise. The stones on the top are meant to house the Warring Triad, but after attempting to creating them in 3D I decided to move them to sprites instead.

Files are, as always, attached and require JuraviS to import. There is a ramp created in the middle of the map, but it's currently hidden and revealed by an animation. Feel free to edit the terrain and remove the cover if so desired!

This will be the last one I have to upload for a bit before I get back to working on these. I had quite a bit of trouble creating this due to not liking the textures for the floor. In the end however I feel it turned out very well and I am pretty proud of the pixel art work on the furniture (especially the bed!).

EDIT: I forgot to note you'll have to event the door opening or take it into GaneshaDX and move the texture to the opened version. I currently don't have a non-event version!

I had a reward on my Twitch channel for those who gathered enough points from watching me to be able to request a map for me to make. Today, however, I am scrapping that idea because I want to assist in creating unique scenarios for people's mods (mostly so I can play them!) and also create something brand new to expand what is possible with Final Fantasy Tactics Modding.

RULES:
  • I have the right to not choose your request. My time is limited and motivation even less so at times.
  • I might not finish your request. If I'm not enjoying the process it makes it hard to work on, let alone finish. I'll provide what I finished to you if I choose to quit working on it.
  • The requested map must be able to be completed on stream. That time is basically the only time I have to work on these. Sorry if you wanted it to stay a secret!
  • Reference is required. You can message me on Discord or post it here, doesn't matter to me!
  • Don't expect it to be done by a certain date. I take a break from creating maps when I find something more interesting to do, so I might stop for a bit here and there or even switch to another request! Please do not pester or bother me to finish it faster or get an ETA. Basically don't make me regret doing this.
  • While I accept constructive criticism and feedback, this isn't client work and if it's not exactly what you wanted I reserve the right to be done with something I feel I completed. GDX is free to use and I will provide you all the files for the map, so if you want something a bit different than what I come up with, you are free to do it yourself!
  • I'll do my best to have the map work flawlessly in game during its creation, but will not hand hold you in getting it working on your mod. Join the discord and ask question if you need help!
  • These rules can be updated and changed at anytime without notice!  :P

So there you have it! Request away!

The next map was the first map I did my first custom mesh animations on. You can't see it in the screenshot, but those gears spin!

This one took me quite a bit longer to finish than most. As you may know, the unexplored lands are based of locations in other Final Fantasy games. This one actually appears in many games so I had a hard time just picking one. The description in game mentions a World Tree so I ran with that concept when making this unexplored land.

I have a few event pieces planned for this map that include the chains shooting from the Mirage Tower to the Castle, but this version can be used without the event work!

Greetings!

Attached is a new .ppf file that should no longer have any attachments to any parts outside of replacing maps.

What changed-
  • I created a new Orbonne Map that no longer has any impassable terrain to remove the need for the opening of Chapter 2 to require an edit for Gaf to spawn correctly
  • Cellar of the Sand Rat map was updated to no longer require an Attack.out edit for all units to spawned correctly
  • Though it is one of my fav edits, I've removed Slums in Dorter as it caused the Balthier event in TLW from running and soft locked the game

Please test and let me know if using this causes any issues! I'll add it to the original post in due time!

After many years Souls of Destiny has been completed and it is a wild ride from start to finish. With a new set of unique characters, the player goes on a journey try to unravel the mystery of why they are being pursued. The mod provides a welcome complex narrative with interesting characters and political intrigue that made Vanilla so immersive. Though it does take a step back from being completely serious at times, it still kept me interested and I enjoyed the comedic nature that never overstayed its welcome.
Souls of Destiny does more than create a new story for the player to enjoy though, it really shows off what can be accomplished when modding Final Fantasy Tactics. It has new music which is a very rare and is an untapped tool to this day. It has custom maps that are very refreshing and interesting to play. A myriad of new sprites are unique and make the characters feel special. The main cast has new jobs with a plethora of skills to learn. CONMAN has harnessed the tools available and created something worth experiencing.
It is, however, a bit rough around the edges. CONMAN is a one man show and unfortunately the level of polish just isn't quite there. That is also to be expected as the mod itself only had CONMAN as a tester and he already has plans to correct errors in the script as well as make it compatible with more emulators. It does take away from the experience here and there, but it does not make it any less fun or any less worth playing.
The mod has been balanced for fun rather than difficulty. All characters have enough tools in their main jobs, but can become crazy powerful when paired with the modified Vanilla jobs. I only found one or two battles in the main story required a retry. This did detract from some pivotal story moments, but overall I have no qualms with how the mod plays and did have some memorable battles (Lucavi vs Lucavi anyone?).
There is a vast amount of optional content as well. You will not find yourself wanting more characters as the roster of recruit-able characters definitely does not disappoint. Each battle and event outside the main story is unique as well as a blast to experience. Some are even quite challenging, but the reward for victory is always worth it. For those who like their unique items, there are plenty of new ones as well as some that can only be stolen from your foes, so don't forget that thief at home!
Overall, Souls of Destiny is the biggest mod currently available on this site. It has more content than Vanilla and includes a brand new and intriguing story. It is an unpolish gem of a mod and you would be sorely mistaken to not grant yourself the pleasure of playing it. Thanks for creating such a wonderful experience CONMAN, I look forward to whatever you make in the future!

I had never played the PSP version of FFT so I jumped at the chance to play this mod. Not only did it live up to the hype, it exceeded my expectations more than I could have hoped. I'm not sure how else to say it, but I fell in love with Final Fantasy Tactics all over again.
The Rendezvous are spectacular and the Treasure Wheel afterward is nothing short of extraordinary. It feels so natural and well designed I feel robbed that it wasn't in the original release.
The translated Sound Novels need their own shout out as well. They are spectacular and so unique. If you haven't played them, you are in for one heck of a ride.
The post game content is beautiful and is everything I've ever wanted. It really enhances the entire game and rewards those who take the time to complete all the side quests and propositions.
There is plenty more to gush about, but I'm probably just gonna go play through it again instead of writing any more. You should too!

P.S. Be on the look out for new stuff to come out after this release. With TLW 2.0 as a base, we are in for some crazy new mods. I'm really excited and you should be too.

Works in Progress / Final Fantasy Tactics: Keen Sight

Keen Sight

Objective:
I wanted to create a mod where the Random Number Generation was shifted from Accuracy to Damage and so Final Fantasy Tactics: Keen Sight was born.
I will be modifying the game to change every aspect based around the design that all moves will never miss. The one exception is that I will not be making the statuses procs 100% on moves that do damage and apply status effects (example: Sword Skills)
In addition, I will be modifying formations and using my Alternate Map pack instead of Vanilla maps. This is to create specific formations around the RNG design change

Progress:
Still in testing, but all moves should now have a 100% hit ratio and I've modified formations of battles through the Algus Battle at the end of Chapter 1. Please let me know if you see a move without 100% accuracy!

Warning:
I know this is currently dumb and unbalanced! Definitely much to be done!


Please provide me any feedback or ideas as you wish! As always, I'm open to constructive criticism!

The 1st Pass of an alternate version of all Story Maps in FFT has been completed

Please see original post for the .ppf and .zip of individual files.

The .ppf includes a special event created by Jumza. To see it visit the Thieves Fort during Chapter 2 or Chapter 3.

We've been testing and experimenting with the new GaneshaDX level editor and there will be plenty more custom maps after this.

I'll eventually come back and finish up the texturing and lighting on these, but that might be a while!
