What RedWorld wrote makes me wonder if there's a way to keep the status as is, but prevent the graphical change into a literal chicken.  As it is, I find it a bit too comical.  If they looked like themselves, I'd probably utilize the status more.

Would be great to be able to edit what enemies leave behind in chests. 
Is there any research done on which monsters drop what items?  As for humans, I assume they drop a piece of their equipment unless they're unequiped or had it all broken/stolen.  Then, does the games choose from the same items that monsters would drop?
Is it perhaps possible to change which items it chooses from?  That seems fairly doable with asm, as for a specific item for each unit seems tougher if not impossible.

Hmm.  Doesn't look too tough.  Dancer body, arms, maybe head.  Female ninja or archer for the legs.  Wizard hat, maybe a few modifications.

A tedious work around would be to raise the required amount of JP for job lvls and abilities.

Haven't done much on it besides getting ideas.  Been working a lot and playing a lot of GW2 and SC2.  I've recently got a new PC, so i haven't set up my editing programs.  I'll probably work on the Fem. Wizard before I work on the Summoner.

Magus has been suggested and a few(myself included) have started on a sprite of him, but none have gotten very far.  I do intend to finish a sprite of him, but I have a lot of sprites I'd like to make.

I'd love to work on the third sprite.  Probably start with Reis as a base for the arms.  Could be tedious with the long sleeves, but would look great if it were finished.  Also would be useful to anyone try to make a sprite like FFX Yuna.

For replacing the sprites, you just have to change the type in Shishi from what you're overwriting to what you're overwriting it with.  So, if the new sprite is TYPE 1 make sure the type dropdown box matches it.  As far as I know that should fix that.  Had quite a mess with arms when I made the Ronin sprite.  Learnt my lesson.

Nice list.  Just had a quick idea when u mentioned bomb.  Have damage taper off the further from the target area.  Even something like spear or breath that does full damage for the close panel, but less damage for the 2 range panel.  Or, to expand the idea further, hit % dependant on range, as well as the direction you hit on.  If these ideas, as well as target box/aoe aren't possible, they should be brought up in the Tethical forums try implementing them.

I like the idea of a thread for hair styles.  I'm thinking, to start building up a collection, we could extract the hair from current sprites and store them here.

Finished! (kinda... beta stage..?)
Might be a little wonky when it's animated.  I still have a problem checking animations with Shishi.  Hat may look a little odd during walking frames.  The arms look a little odd in the Chocobo mounted frames (I think that's what they are), but I don't care about that at the moment.  Palettes are original to the regular Wizard, but doesn't look too good on some of them, so I'll probably play with it a bit. 
Changed the portrait a bit.  Opened up his collar and changed some details and shading, but mostly the same.
If you feel like trying it in game, go for it.  Let me know what needs fixing.

I haven't touched the sprite in a while.  I have gone through quite a few attack frames to fix how the arms line up and fixed some shading.  Still have more to do, but I've been playing a lot of Starcraft and Guild Wars.  I'll get to finishing this eventually.  As well as a female version.

OMG <hair pull> I overwrote my working .psd file when I made that preview .bmp.  All my layers and masking... gone QQ
THANKFULLY the majority of it was done, but I wanted to keep those pieces for making future projects easier.
I'm going through the frames, definitely needs tweaking.  As you could imagine the hat cuts into a lot of the frames with the arms.
It's going alright, but I'll probably take a break for a bit.  Gonna start my brainstorming for the female counterpart, soon.

Bulk of the work is done.  Here's it's current state.  All frames are done.  I have yet to test any of it in Shishi, so I'd suspect there are things that need fixing.  Take a look if you'd like to see how it is.  I'll probably not get back to this for a few days... weekend, ya know  ;)

As do I.  I was thinking of making a medium size hat, just a small edit to the brim, but I doubt I will.  Tried a little band around the hat... looks pretty good, so I'll probably add it to one of the finished versions.

I don't really like Elidibs hat, but I could throw it on pretty easily.  I'll see how it looks and might release both versions.  I kinda like the big hat ^.^
EDIT:
Here's a quick edit that has the smaller hat.  I like it, but I feel it's too proportioned and not as whimsical as FF is supposed to be when it comes to Wizards/Black Mages.  I'll do both, but for myself I'm probably gonna use the bigger hat  :D

I'm back.  Been wanting to try out my idea for the Wizards and here's what I've got so far.  I'm actually really happy with the results.  I'm using the Calculator for the collar and arms, the Mediator for the coat tails and of course the Wizards hat and face.  A few frames of the hat were too tall after I raised them all by 2 pixels so I just dropped the point a bit.  The overall look is intended to be more like the older versions of the Black Mages in FF history.  I just find the Wizards look too stumpy and their robes look a bit too much like ponchos.

I was glad to get them done, then I realized it might be an issue overwriting the sprites of them.  I'd like to use them on my PSP patch, but I know there are cut scenes that they're involved with and I'm not sure if it's gonna cause a problem.  Then it made me wonder about Rad and Gafgarion.  Really hope it's not gonna be a problem.

Been a while since I've done any work on my sprites.  Had a few days off since I've been sick.  Decided to work on the Lavian & Alicia sprites inspired of R999's design.
I pretty much just did head swaps and palette changes using Agrias as a base.  I used the Female Cadet sprite by Kagebunji for the hair of Alicia and the Monica Ausbach sprite by Zozma for Lavian's Hair.
Like most my sprites, I don't really get around to checking them out, so there may be some frames with little problems. 
Anyways, hope you like them.  I wouldn't mind making them a bit more refined, or maybe even have capes... but for now they're done.
