You'd need to backup beforehand. And careful with torrents. I tried one to get my comp to multiboot with XP, and it didn't have some of the necessary audio or network drivers, so not only could I not run programs, I couldn't get to the internet. I had to wipe my whole system and start from scratch with Vista again.

Ok thanks again. I think it might be refreshing to do a wipe and start clean again. I could just backup what I definitely want to keep and reacquire the rest when the need arises. Or do I need to back up... everything? Or can I just send myself the files/docs/programs I want to keep over say, gmail/whatever, and then reinstall and download them again? Or by 'backup' do you mean something else, like backing up everything on the system?
