Quote from: "Cheetah"I think it would be great if there was a sprite for a Blackbelt class. I love Monks, and Blackbelts are just the more badass version with more cloths. I'm not sure what skills to give them, but if they could equip some types of armor and do like dual hand attacks, and maybe equip a new claw weapon that would be a good start. Is it possible to have a character do two attacks with their fists?
No weapon equipped + Two Swords = two fist attacks

Well that is sweet, it would be easy to give the class innate Two Swords. I'm really curious about doing custom weapons too. Though claws seem like they would be pretty hard to do.

is there a way to make a weapon use the punching action? then just make claws from that
I never learn from my mistakes.

well actually, i noticed that when a dancer uses cloth as a weapon, she does her punching motion (i think; it's where she briefly raises her hand then open-palm punches).

if anyone wants, there is, of course, a .BIN that contains all of the in-game in-battle graphics for weapons (can't remember which one) which can be opened and viewed perfectly; this could be edited and the cloth can be removed to place a fist/claw over it.

the reason i'm sure no one ever really suggested this is because no one uses cloths (especially not on males)

EDIT: it's not a .BIN; it's found in the 'BATTLE' directory of the FFT.img as WEP.SPR

I'm back from the dead, with a pretty much finished portrait!

Note: The mirroring makes that tuft of hair look wierd, will fix it up soon.

Well I finally changed my avatar...by adding more pixels! If we are going to double size portraits as avatars we might as well double the number of pixels that are unique. This still uses the same number of colors and is just making the image higher resolution by hand. I'm sure their are some good filters that could do the same thing, but if you are looking for a good exercise in spriting and pixel placement I would recommend giving this a try on your own avatar. I think it looks pretty slick too.

Well these portraits are twice the size of the originally with no blurring or anything, so they look blocky because what was once one pixel is now four in a square. I went through by hand and just added more single pixels to make smoother edges. Just download the avatar and open it in a graphics program and start adding pixels and it will make sense.

Highly impressive Cheetah! That does look a lot better! I can't help but think though it loses a slight bit of it's classic charm, but it does look better, so... eh well.

Looks good, I'm guessing it would be near impossible to remove his fluffy shawl though. I think it would look more unique without it, but more work than it is likely worth.
