Cool. It's a great start. Is it based on your username, or is it a character you like?

Pretty cool, keep up the good work. The hair might need a little bit more highlighting.

You should make your shoulders a little wider in the portrait you look like a midget.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

I don't like that the hair is the same color as the clothes.

You are using many colors but most are almost copies of of other colors. :S

Remember you are allowed 16 colors for the sprite and 16 colors for the portrait.

I like the hair a lot, it's awesome, although it lacks shading. The main problem is that you are using global light while there should be only one source of light. Start with dark, and lightnen up the parts where the light can hit.

And if I check the portrait, the source of light should be about 30 degrees over 0 at the left side of the portrait.

As for the sprite, it's good. But the hair lacks shading there too. The lightened part looks all flat.

I know how don't have many pixels to edit for hair shading but at least try.

Excellent first sprite.  :P

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)
<R999> My target market is not FFT mod players
<Raijinili> remember that? it was awful

Quoteyou should make your shoulders a little wider in the portrait you look like a midget.
I've fix that and it look good i'll put it with my next sprite update.

I really  hate that 16 color limit in everygame i make him(fire emblem and this) the pallete screw him up.The brown cloth is suppose to be blue. :(

EDIT:I've remove the bandana wich would have only happerred(Wrong spelling?) on the portrait. It give two more color to work with.May as well change the green cloth.

Everytime i post someone post while i'm writing, like zodiac, so i did not see is post.
EDIT II:And another free color found!
And i've changed the color. The green cloth became brown,The brown one became blue. Not sure i like it thought.Any idea for color?

Good job so far!

If you keep the sprite the way you have it, the arms are going to screw with you later.  The blue arm at some points will be on the brown side and vice versa.

why would it screw up? W'ont the blue part alway be in the back area?

i think it will be just like the cloud sprite where the armored arm is always in front, it should be fine, but you can see all the frames in shishi's preview mode.

The problem is that it doesn't import.

oh really? that probably means you have one or two too many colors. gotta do a color reduction. zodiac did mention your sprite had copies of similar colors right?  but also is your portrait really in the bmp file like that? if so that is why. itll look wrong when you import it

i wont be home untill late tonight but if i have the sprite sheet i can take a look. send it to me

Damn i think i found what is wrong.
Yeah I use paint. Is it because i set it at 24 bit color?or something like that?

August 07, 2008, 07:00:17 pm #17 Last Edit: December 31, 1969, 07:00:00 pm by SentinalBlade
probably.

also paint gets rid of the first black that is supposed to be there(for me in photoshop it is) watch my video to see what im talking about.

Photoshop can allow you to save it in 8 byte(what it needs to be) or 16byte..or even 4 byte for the japanese formation portraits...

Regardless, paint doesnt like me, and always deletes a color, then adds two black pallets making my total 17...
