These requests I posted in a Sprite request topic. But as I said then, I would love to see them made... Can anyone help?

A) Generic SOLDIER from FFVII. (Dunno, but I would love to make a Generic SOLDIER Class...)
B) Kadaj from FFVII:AC. (Can you see a theme? But yeah, I need him for a story idea...)
C) Generic Knight with BLACK Hair. (1. I just want to see a single, black haired knight... out of principle. 2. I need one again for story idea's....)
D) Dark Knight + Onion Knight. (Unleeeessss.... Can I just take the .SPR file from FFT:WOTL? Hmmmm...)
E) Full grown generic versions for Arc, Fell, Holy, and Hell (and maybe Dead) Knights. (I love Knight's, being my favourite class, but I would love to see generic versions of these specific Knights. Maybe Heavenly as well, but that remains to be seen..)
F) Sephiroth, FFVII + FFVII: AC (Do I really need to give a reason? It's Sephiroth. SEPHIROTH. Besides, I need a Good Boss.)
G) Ramza with Black Hair + Extended length. (Now this... I need this for a very important idea and story element I've had boiling...)
H) Seigfried from Soul Series. (AH! This is one that's been eluding me, but as he's sort of a Knight like class, he may be easier to do... Probably be a Heavenly Knight... I would love to see a Sprite of him....)
And finally...
I) Reno from FFVII: AC (Or FFVII, whichever you'd prefer). (Now this one.... Well, It's Reno. Is their any reason why Reno shouldn't be here? He is funny, and does look cool. Plus, he could actally fight real well in FFVII.)

Anyone interested? Please reply..

A) Already made, may need some polishing.
C) Really easy to do (Do it yourself)
D) Yes you can
F) Already been done a few times.
G) Easy (Do it yourself)
I) Little editing to that Phoenix lawyer guy and you got a Reno.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

Cool! Thanks Cid.

A) Oh yeah! You mean the one created by the Japenese editor? Hmmm... I just downloaded it.
B) Would I just edit Ramza (Not Elmdor, hairs too long, plus he has too old a look... Ramza can easily be edited into a more evil look..)
C) What would you suggest to be the best editor for Sprite editing?
D) Awesome! I'll try it.
E) That one, I may need just a bit of help with then...
F) Cool. Is their any specific version that's denoted as the best?
G) Sure. I'll try.
H) Does anyone have an interest in the Soul Series? Cause I need some help on the general look I want for him.
I) Do they have sprites of Phoenix Wright? Cause I didn't know there was any...

I like to use GIMP (you can download it for free) for the bulk of my editing and Graphics Gale (which is also a free download) for palette switching.

Yeah GIMP.  It is pretty daunting at first because of the sheer number of options (most of which you won't use for spriting).  I like that it has hotkeys to switch the tools around, and layers for more complex editing.

Cool. I'll try it now.

Do you divide up tasks between the editors or is it more preference based?

Well Gimp can select by color which is well amazing  8)

Graphics Gale for Palette editing you say, I have to try that out, it was always a pain in the ass to switch it on GIMP, thanks for the tip!
There is a "Objection!" topic somewhere on the Custom Sprites section, might be on Second Page

What exactly do you mean on E? And I could do a couple of those for you. I just started spriting again!

Edit: I just got your black haired knight! My first to sprite edits for you right here!

Here is your violet Meliadoul.

For the most part it's by preference.  However, in most areas GIMP is just plain more powerful than Graphics Gale.  However as CidIII said, palette swapping in GIMP is extremely painful (at least in  terms of swapping colors around within the same palette so you can look at the alternate color schemes).  In Graphics Gale it is as simple as drag and drop.

If you'd like I can post a list of the tools I frequently use, along with (more importantly) the hotkeys you press to toggle between them.

Iron: Oh, wow! Thanks Iron! That's exactly what I wanted! And yeah, only if you want to, I'd like to suggest a few sprite edits. But it depends on what you wanna do. So thanks. By the by... what's the Purple Meliadoul for? I know I'm being an idiot, (or maybe I haven't reached the end of the game yet..) but that one.. is it one of the generic knights?

EDIT: On E, I might just have trouble designing genetic sprites for all of those classes. But it's no bigee. So yeah, you help would be awesome.

Tersius: Yeah, that would be awesome. A list of both would provide me with a lot of info on what to work at i terms of technique, and generally help. So thanks!

Sorry for the delay on the GIMP tips.  Because they ended up being a lot more like a guide I decided to post them as their own topic here:

Isn't the Zoom-in zoom-out option in GIMP also important in sprite/potrait making.

Oh yeah!  I can't believe I forgot that tool!  I'll add it to the list now.  Is that better?

Thanks, Ters! It's exactly what I need in terms of help.

By the way.. where is the Dialog button? Are you using Version 2.0 of GIMP, or an older version, cause I can't see the buttons you talk about in setting up.

It seems like I updated just a couple of months ago (I'm at version 2.4.5), but I just noticed there is a new version available.  I'll update and see if it there are any drastic differences in the interface.

I just finished updating, and I don't see any major interface changes.  I did realize that it is actually called "Dialogs" (I forgot the plural s).  You have to make sure the window with your image in it is big enough to show the entire menu bar.  Dialogs is the second to last one on the right.

I also decided that these "tips" turned out to be more of a guide, so I'll be moving it out to it's own topic.  Hopefully it will be useful for a lot of people.
