*laughs* Thank you all for being kind. ^.^ I think I'll keep it for a while. Maybe I'll touch it up a bit to make it look less like the Archer sometime in the future though.

Okay, so I thought I'd try to make my avatar more appropriate to the forums here. What do you all think? I decided to forgo the crown/tiara because I couldn't get it to look even remotely acceptable.

Please be kind. If I wanted seriously constructive criticism I would've made a post in one of the other forums.

This looks like it is going to be made of pure win. I actually was unaware of 'Powered Up' until I saw this thread. The things I miss out on for not having a PSP.  

A thought though: am I the only one that thinks any version of the original MM is wrong to have a password system? I never felt that was 'missing' after playing the later games but rather that MM2 and on were all made too easy by its addition. Then again, maybe I'm just weird.

Regardless, it looks wonderful Vanya. ^.^ I can't wait to see more!

I've been trying to think of something to add to this thread that hasn't already been said. A little surprise there's no love for the Breath of Fire games but then those really weren't anything special in the realm of epic storytelling.

What about the Lufia games?

And here I was thinking of joining in for what is probably the same reason you're bowing out, Llednar. ^.^

*ponders* I've had some major problems getting my Saturn emulator to work but recently I got things configured and it works like a dream. What exactly are you guys having issues with? Maybe I can come up with something.

*pouts*  I miss out on so much because I'm not a polyglot. I wish I were better wired to learn languages. I can pick up some words here and there but actually trying to really learn a new language is like trying to swim up a waterfall of molasses for me. >.< Though not being able to understand Japanese does keep me from playing import games with every free waking minute I have.

EDIT: Something that came to mind on this subject, and as an inverse example of good graphics/bad game, is a recent game release that is being hailed both for its great gameplay but by today's standards terrible graphics. Mega Man 9. The Blue Bomber has still got it, even in all hit 8-bit glory. ^.^

There's profanity in FF1? I have played that game more times than I can count...probably more times (number of plays and/or play time) than any other game ever (possible exceptions being FF6 and FFT) and I honestly can't think of a single curse word in the entire game. Am I just having a major Alzheimer's moment or are you referring to one on the remakes? ...actually, thinking about it now, I can't remember much of the dialogue at all from that game. I've gotten used to just playing thru in different ways without talking to most people. I think I 'talk' to the well and fountain in Corneria more than anything else non-essential in the game.

The well is my personal favorite though. ^.^

The older the game the more I'll like it from the start. ^.^ I was hoping someone would note what it was from. There is a crew of folks on some other forum working on ripping sprite sheets from DF and I put this together in Imageready. I was proud of how it came out.
