Beta 1.2 involves five files:
ATTACK.OUT (in-battle names, in EVENT folder)
CYOKO.SPR (Boco sprite, in BATTLE folder)
GYUMU.spr (Red mage sprite, in BATTLE folder)
Sigma Patch.fftpatch (I used FFTPatcher-v0.200 to apply patch - patch ENTD files, BATTLE.BIN files, and SCUS_942.21 files)
TEST.EVT (battle text and such, in EVENT folder)
WORLD.BIN (forgot what this does, in WORLD folder)


Post here any bugs or problems the patch has. Please use the Suggestion topic for any suggestions you have to mold Sigma into a better game. If there are any discrepancies between what I say is in here and what IS in here, please notify me so that I can fix it. My old patch disappeared, so it is almost certain that what is displayed below is NOT in the patch.

Current glitches:

-On Zirekile Falls, if you deploy 4 units, Agrias looks like crap. If you can, only deploy 3 and you should be fine. Let me know if not.

-Boco is not mountable as a unique class. Therefore, I made him a Black Chocobo from Zirekile Falls and on.

Oh, yeah I forgot to mention I fixed all Bracelet -> Breath instances to make space for the new skill name.

If you only import BATTLE.BIN, you'll only have the new names displayed in battle only.

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)

Hmm i don't know the exact correlation between spreadsheet and the patch its self but the weapon is the only thing that can add status effects for regular attacks right. I haven't really tried messing around with it but my thief Razma with mage masher is definitely adding invite on attack commands(It happed several times)

I dont know if it helps clear up anything, but i use a fresh image to patch and started a new game.

Lancers cannot equip shoes, Razma has jblvl 4 for both geomancer and lancer yet no bard availible. And by your post it should be unlocked.

Edit* i cheated to unlock bard and cheer song doesn't  have 100% acc.

Update* dancer still has the requirements of 4 Mediator 4 Summoner in your list, if this is not true you need to change your list

Okay, that definitely has to be fixed. Lancers need their shoes. Sorry about the typo, Bard still needs 4 Mediator and 4 Summoner and Dancer still needs 4 Geomancer and 4 Lancer.

Those problems should be fixed now. Redownload and tell me if Lancers can equip shoes the next time you play.

Yes my Lancer is no longer a hobbit, shoes for all.

Axes still suck. My estimated damage is 72, but most of the time i do 12. Can you change it to where the min damage is not so little. The added attacks help, but only very little 32 extra damage 25% of the time (slasher will probably change this complaint but i don't have it yet).

An additional note, choco ensuna has no jp cost.

Does that one also have the Mage Masher bug fixed?

On the topic of axes, extra WP would always do it, although that has its own problems.  Personally, I'd say the point of equilibrium would have axes outdamaging the best sword available at the same time they enter shops at least 33%, if not 50%, of the time.

Mage Masher adds Silence and/or Innocent now


All axes have Wind element and Strengthen wind. This means PA is increased by 25% when fighting with axes.

Battle Axe(9WP) comes with Mythril Sword(7WP).
9*5/4 = 11.25,  11WP/7WP = 1.57

Giant Axe comes out after Coral Sword (8WP) and before Sleep Sword (9WP)
12*5/4 = 15,  15WP/9WP = 1.67

Slasher(16WP) comes out with Diamond Sword(10WP)
16*5/4 = 20,  20WP/10WP = 2.00

It's not quite as dramatic usually, since bonus adds to PA and value truncates but I've got spells added to each axe, so they should be worth using. One who uses an axe should be aware that it can do damage equal to PA*5/4, which really sucks...

This tidbit really belongs more on the Suggestion section though.

Have you seen Gafgarion yet? Seen him use Night Sword? I accidentally changed it to heal instead of absorb.

I have re-uploaded the patch, but since I've been testing things to fit my new addition, the ENTD4.ENT, I had to go back to the original patch (first version of Beta 1.1) so if something that I corrected is awry, just restate it...

If you don't care about Night Sword though, don't worry about it.

i didnt see Gafgarion use dark sword. How ever i didnt attack him untill i stole what i needed and 1hko him with holy. Since it does normal weapon damage, you will probly only see it when he is hurt.

Odin does 0 damage, so on top of only having an acc of 40% for me it only does anything 25% of the time i does hit.

Veilius (Sp) is murder now, his instant cast summons tend to wipe my party out. With out cheer song he would wipe out my party be for i could move. I was able to win by using magic song + titan till it could one hit his demons (sing is fast enough this only took around 2 turns for my summoner), then i use solution to weaken his summons.

Bloody strings + Squire is awsome. this is my set up

with this set up counter flood punishes any attackers, and bloody strings plus charge typicaly heals him to full. It would be cool if distribute worked when one heals oneself because then i could heal my party by attacking.

In your list you list mimic titan as 3v1 under blue magic and 4v1 under monster skills. I havnt be able to try it out, but i assume this is a mistake

Charge + 20 is still useless because ill get another turn before it hits, but charge in general is alot more usefull.

I didn't say he was overpowered, but he is a lot tougher than he was before. I'm going to send you an email with a save state at the battle screen just before the Velius fight. I figured it would be the best way to see what my party was and try Velius for your self. It was made by ePSXe.

Update, Ok something weird is happening. I'm on rooftop and Squire Ramza started off with all beneficial status effects, and his guts has koutetsu (from draw out) but it affects the entire screen, does 850 damage and i dont have any katanas.

Its been a while since ramza has been a squire so i dont know if its the battle or what. I did some testing and Ramza still had the effects described when necked as a squire but not as a mime.

Also the fight is impossible because Elmdor wipes out everyone the first turn, because he has the super koutetsu as well, unless you take advantage of the glitch. I have your most recent patch and i haven't been able to try any other battles since i got it.

Judo outfit no longer cancels dead, an assassin used stop breath while i had one equipped. Also the thieves on the grog hill battle were equipped with sasuke knives, which would normally be impossible, but i don't know if that was intended or not. Even with the improved Skeletons and undead Knights the Angel of Death fight is still a push over.

*Update

he only used gravity 2, flare 2, and rarely loss. Gravity 2 seemed to only hit about 30% of the time, flare 2 did an average of 150 damage iirc. I think my levels were 40~.
