Hi all! I'm new and somewhat a noob lol. I read a lot of post. But I can't find out how to change a sprite on my psp.

First I have the fftpack decompressed and have a sprite changed (Cloud), when I remix my fftpack and put it back in the iso file via cdmage but it doesn't work.

How can I change my iso and make it work?
How do you do? What do you use?

Thx and sorry for beiing a noob

Hey, as i said in the other topic, no such thing as noob questions here, unless instructions are given.

If you used teh search button you wouldnt find anything. even though i did fix something like this for someone a long time ago, back when we had a one week warp...

The problem i see most is that Cloud is being replaced. He is rather buggy for some reason...

Here is what i told the guy who made KH Cloud to do

Open up Argath's Sprite(Algus)
IMPORT THE NEW cloud BMP over algus
Save it as the name of CLOUDS Sprite
and copy and paste it back into the fftpack folder, then rebuild fftpack, import it with umdgen, and your good to go.

Problems with UMDGEN:

It has a hell of a hard time if you import things, then you edit the iso in anyway. that means extracting something, importing something, or even patching directly with fftpatcher

The solution to this(i believe, its been about 2 montsh since ive done it) is ot import your sprites on a CLEAN ISO. then use fftpatcher. NEVER import ANYTHING ELSE into that ISO trhough UMDGen

This is definatly not a noob question, as its answer is rather complicated

Welcome to the community <3

The game always crashed when I replaced CLOUD.spr.
It must be glitched or something in the PSP version. I haven't tried replacing it yet in the PSX.

Use UMDGEN for PSP, not CDmage.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

As far as I know, you have to overwrite a sprite.

I had a foreign exchange from France in my band class my senior year, I wish I remember what town he was from.

Thx again.
I have a few last question, perhaps you have already respond to these questions but I can't find them.

- Is it possible to change the sprite in the menu, and in the screen before battle? In event? I only know how to do it in battle.

Thanks for your answers and gratz for your great work all  8)

Bonsoir!

Hi, and thx again.
I watched the videos (may be twice). But I don't know how to extract the portrait and the unit from the .spr file.

I tried to make it manually with phtoshop by selecting the unit from the spr sheet. resize to 24pixels x 40 pixels and then using the japanese tool but it didn't work.

The protrait and the unit I need is for this one:http://www.ffhacktics.com/psx/sprites.php?id=4

Thanks and sorry again if these quastions have been posted

Make sure you set the sprites resolution, and maybe even cut down on a color... you need to save it as a 4-bit, not 8-bit

Alright, a question likely answered before:

Do the sprites need to be the same size to import into the PSP version?

I currently do not have a PSP to test it out... I bought the game, though :p

Should be... something's very odd with Cloud though, don't try to replace him.
