I remember looking into the FF7 hacking scene when I first found FFHacktics (though we weren't called that then). Looks like things have continued to progress with modding the PC version. Those graphical enhancements look very very nice.

I want is the coolest stuff you have found so far Strifes?

Good textures are awesome, but the game is still easy as hell
I'd like to see a rebalancing mod instead of a Graphical mod...

I haven't found anything besides that website and the forum connected to it.

I was making a FFVII mod a while back, but it was a pain so I stopped. After PW... you all might just tempt me to go back to VII modding, lol.

It's amazing that you guys found FFT hacking before you found FFVII.

Yeah I have seen this before. It is usually a difficulty increase and different character graphics.

Have you noticed any animation differences?

The battle graphics enhancements are very nice, but in the field, I prefer my lego men. Detailed 3d on a 2d background fits even worse than crude 3d on 2d :c

Oh yeah, I loved this mod. I only got to disc 2 with it, and there was a difficulty mod that made the game so much more fun. HP cap was 30k and damage limit was taken off, and it was very necessary for the later areas of the game. It pissed me off, though. Fighting Jenova on the boat on disc 1 took ages. I had to literally grind off of normal enemies until my characters were like level 27..

I played and beat this hi quality graphic version with the mp3 music about 4 months ago, it was one of the best experiences of my life lol

Two thing I'd like to see in this hack.
1) Lower resolution models to fit the BG better, or higher resolution BG to fit the models better.
2) Textures on the enemies so they match the players models better.

BTW, did they ever finish up the new models for all the in-battle PCs?

Well maybe, I read the exe I got with the stuff packed together was seriously outdated, but it was so convenient.

From what i remember all the characters for in battle are redone (may have been 1 or 2 that wasn't i cant recall)

Now if they actually redo all the scene like this as well I will definitely play through again it for the millionth time, since it would fit the new hi-res character model much better

I'm surprised the modders of this weren't sent a "cease and desist" from Square like the CT Resurrection was.

CT Resurrection was an original story roundabouts.  This is just a graphical enhancement of an existing game without story or game changes.  Or any extreme game changes, as the original game is preserved and a hard-type is optional.  The Master Quest dungeons of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are a case in point.  Sometimes the designers will address a lack of challenge in a later version of the game, like FFIV.

Ok my next Project will be: PLaying a modded FF7 Version.
