You're already a good spriter, why not practice with an arm replacement? There are a couple sprites out there with bare arms, just experiment. If someone else gives you the final product, that's fine and dandy, but practicing with replacing arms will help you grow as a spriter and a sprite analyst.

I might be able to get the blue eyes in the portrait, assuming no one else is.

okay, i used the portrait out of the sprite itself so youll have to replace the sleeveless but here is the bmp file containing the 16 color palette

and a larger file as a png display

Wow...that's great Sir Zozma. I'm liking the blue eyes ^^
Not much portraits with blue eyes right? Mostly brown and black.
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

i made 2 sets, the bottom one is if you prefer the blue to be slightly lighter...

nah there arent many with blue eyes. Its easy to make a portrait with brown eyes because they dont have to 'waste' a color since it is shared with the hair color/skin

True...true ^^
Hmm...Both looks good but I think I preferred the one with lighter blue eyes ^^

Great job man. Even with the blue eyes you manage to retain detail pretty damn well.

I have actually tried twice, and in both attempts, I failed. It's mostly due to the way Balmafula's (or Jenna's) arms are placed on the sprite -- none of the other bare arms fit quite right. You are right, though; I do need to practice with it.

Unfortunately, it's a tall order for my current skill level (as you can see, I haven't done much here but a palette edit and a head swap), and like everyone else, I've been really busy. I suppose I'll have to suck it up and get down to brass tacks. I'll try to set aside some time for this, but I don't know when (or even if) I'll finish it. Feel free to use it as-is, though.

To Zozma -- You're awesome! Those both look excellent and match the sprite much better! I'm not sure which one to use, though... Which one do you all prefer, personally?

I chose the second one but now take a look again, I think first one is better too ^^
Second blue is lighter but I think first blue is good enough.

I can't decide, to be honest. Probably because both are very nice.

I have to say, since you first showed me the early mugshot in IRC awhile back, I've thought it was a very nice design. And people calling her cute is by far an understatement. :)

I'm inclined to want to learn more about this character~

Thank you, I really do appreciate that. My aim was to make her unique and pretty. I still have some work to do on the mugshot, but I'll be incorporating Zozma's edits for sure.

We went over this on IRC... heh. In all seriousness, though, it's heartwarming to see someone interested in the character. If you've any questions, ask me here or on IRC and I'll do my best to answer them!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been kind of lazy. I've begun work on the sprite's arms... but we'll see how long it takes me to actually finish it all up. The arms that are actually connected to things will give me some problems.

At any rate, here's a preview of what the finished sprite will look like (I haven't edited the portrait yet either, except to add Zozma's edits to the sleeveless version, but I am planning on it).

Better or worse than the original?

Looks good, but are the shoulders matching up with the neck properly? Maybe it's just my eyes playing a wacky trick on me...

I noticed that too, and I touched it up.

EDIT: Okay, big update. I think I'm finally finished with the sprite... so, let's put it through the trial, I suppose. I had to be creative with some of the arms in some areas (particularly on the critical and dead sprites), so any feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm including a blown up version of the basic positions, as well as a finalized portrait.

Fire away!

Forgot that editing old posts won't bump the thread back up for everyone to check out, so here's a bump.

Tell me whatcha think.

Looks good, though the damage-taking animations seem to be suffering from an extra black pixel. Actually, a couple poses are. Change the background black to some really bright color temporarily and you'll see the minor defects. Hopefully someone will test it out for ya. But to me, the sprite looks damn good.

The sprite was very well done,I tested it myself,397 frames and no fails,I didnt notice any minor defects.

The sprite design is awesome as I said before the update, now it looks awesome and more original,it surely deserves a spot somewhere

Any chances for a name change, her name reminds me a lot of Reno

EDIT:just noticed the portrait at the sheet, you didnt removed the original colors from the pallete, satured red and blue
Need something useful to write here
